It seems quite a lot for the 2 or 3 times a year you'll be using it in the 'glorious British summer'!!!

Ive just bought one of these for £100 from BedsBBQ, and I thought that was cheap.

Been using it for a few weeks now, the build quality is second to none. I've cooked whole chickens on it (beer-can style) and they taste great. Can't recommend this bbq/grill enough.

Can you share your method? That's one of the reasons i wanted this.

I'm having a go at pulled pork tomorrow, it takes 8 hours :w00t:

Just need to source some wood chips cheaper than the £5 they want in Homebase!!

Just search on youtube for beer can chicken

Also search on youtube for BBQ Pit Boys, they have loads of recipes on there.

I have just recently bought one of these BBQ's and it easily the best one I have ever had, you get what you pay for in a BBQ.

I'm lucky enough to work in the "Industrial Estate"* where Weber Stephen are based and picked one of the "Gold" versions of these up for £50. I have to say, the build quality is second to none. They also have a 10 year warranty IIRC so by the time you've gone through 2 or 3 Focus specials this will have paid for itself (even at full price).

Chimney starter a very worthwhile purchase also.
Although a nice Weber gas BBQ (Particularly one of the Q series) will see much more use (must have used ours at least once a week over the last 12 months compared to once or twice for the charcoal one).

*in a very rural location.

Just got mine home and opened it up, it doesn't have a temperature gauge on the lid, is that right? It looks like it has one in the picture

Mine doesnt have a temp gauge, or the hinged grill sides for adding extra coals whilst food is cooking.

the one with temperature gauge and hinged grill is the premium model. This is also not the easier cleaning one touch version most have.

Thanks guys, just realised after looking around, bit of a shame but have ordered an oven thermometer from Amazon which should do the trick.

Might be tricky tomorrow attempting my pulled pork, need to get it to 250 degrees (F), Might put it on earlier just in case!!

I just stick an oven thermometer down the air vent on my OTG and that works well.
Obviously the vents are opposite the briquettes using indirect method.
Got my OTG a couple of months ago and it's been used at least twice a week, even through the rain - all the sunday roasts are done on it now.

Can pick up some nice smoking chips as well although tend to stick to applewood, mesquite and hickory.

Not sure what the difference is between the Bar B Kettles and regular Webers though.

Hinged grate is a must for long cooks and the chimney starter is excellent.

Good piece of kit and great customer support. although as mentioned before, it's normally at Argos for this price.

this is not the one touch silver is it?

No, they are now discontinued - this is labelled a Bar B Kettle but I don't think there is a huge amount of difference except for the OTS being more expensive and having the round vents on the underside, whereas the OT models had a mechanism to adjust the underside vents.

I just realised I run the risk of being labelled a BBQ geek..........

No voucher needed to get the same deal at Argos:

It doesn't say it's a Weber, but I ordered one and picked it up from their Partick store yesterday and it is indeed a Weber.
