Weber Smokey Joe Portable Barbecue £30.00 from B&Q Spring Green colour

kalel_icemankalel_iceman

Weber Smokey Joe Portable Barbecue £30 from B&Q Spring Green colour.

This is usually £49 at most places so this is the cheapest I have seen it. The colour may not suite everybody but it looks good and the bbq is great for taking on holiday. The deal is online and in store nation wide from B&Q.

I hope this helps someone.

30.00 for a nice picnic bbq is great, or a flat with a backyard. MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE CHIMNEY STARTER, Trust me, makes it so easy and very fast, no messing around, no black fingers, best purchase I have ever made with BBQ, will never go back to gas, its that easy.

Totally agree canada16. I also got one a couple of weeks ago when John Lewis had them at the £16.99 (currently £19.99) - could not believe how easy it was to light briquettes that I had a nightmare lighting the previous day without the chimney starter! Weirdly, I find it really adds to the fun of the BBQ experience!

Gas is faster and easier as you just turn it on, but looses the flavor.
If you just cook burgers and chicken then buy a gas, but if you want to get into melt in your mouth ribs and steak then buy charcoal.

I have had both and will never go back to gas, plus using wood chips to smoke is a lot easier on charcoal.

I got a weber normal BBQ last year for 35.00 from argos, best BBQ I have had, very good quality, and if I was going to by another it would be webber.

Also, I had a 10p size chip on my lid when I took it out, contacted weber and they told me to take a picture and email it to them, 2 days later a new lid arrived, no hassle.

Thanks canada16. I would love the charcoal taste but am worried about spending hours cleaning afterwards. Btw what's the smoking with woodchips for? Heard a lot about it but not sure what it does.

its for cooking over a low indirect hear for hours rather than grilling it.

In the UK Grilling is synonymous with BBQ.
BBQ is actually the process of cooking low and slow with smoke over many hours

I think the Landmann looks like a better deal as they both have the same cooking area but you get free tongs with the Landmann plus the fact that the colour is funkier than James Brown!

Agree on the colour. But, you'll NEVER go wrong with a Weber and the few pounds difference, even without the tongs, is well worth the extra outlay. Add in the 10 year manufacturers guarantee that comes with the Smokey Joe and, in my opinion, it is a much better deal.

Got the Smokey Joe and the Weber One Touch Premium 57cm Charcoal BBQ! Worth highlighting that the OP's Smokey Joe deal is not for the Premium or Gold model - it's the Smokey Joe Silver model. The only difference is that the Premium/Gold has a lid lock for carrying, which lowers to double as a lid holder.

I have one of these, and can thoroughly reccomend it. I also have the Weber chimney starter, which is a must have for any charcoal BBQ owner.

Looks like this is the Original and not the Premium. It's worth spending an extra £10 for the premium as it allows you to carry it easier and includes a facility to allow you to prop the lid up to use it as a wind break. I have the premium smokey joe which I use for days out and a 57" premium for home use. The wife got me teh latter for Xmas last year. The amount of people who laughed at me receiving a BBQ for xmas are now eating their words as well as eating all the great food I now cook on it :-) Try the Beer Can chicken - always goes down a treat.
