Pack up your office files and take them home. Carry thousands of songs or pictures. These drives are simple to use, light and easy to carry, and require no power adapter - they are powered directly through the USB cable.Installation is a snap because you don't really "install" this drive; you just plug it in and it's ready to use. There is no CD to install; the included software loads from the drive the first time you plug it in. Powered by the USB bus, so no separate power supply needed. This ultra-portable drive fits easily in your pocket or purse, weighs only a few ounces and holds tons of valuable data.

With these being USB is there any reason they wouldn't work with OSX?
#3
They are compatible with Mac yeah :)

Ray this is only £2.57 lower than the other post a few lines down! You're in posting mode tonight right? ;)
#5
mmmmmust resist.... trying to convince myself I don't need another one :) (already have 2x120gb and 1x160gb drives)
#6
Nice one!
#7
The lack of power option puts me off!!!
What you all reckon?
I love WD!!!
#8
Oh what the heck - bought it anyway.
I think a solution could be a powered USB hub????????
#9
Don't they come with a double ended USB for extra power then? (Like the Maxtor ones do?)
#10
Mine didn't come with a double-ended cable - but I've never had any problems running mine on any machine (even my copiously under-powered and unstable 3 year old PC).
#11
It says £52.99. How do you get it for £45?
#12
Looks like the price has gone up :-(

Yes, the 360 will recognise this drive. I use the 120GB one to play movies through.(wmv format) My streaming setup isn't the best.

Yes, if you read the other thread about this drive (but from E-Buyer) Admin tells you how to do it.

I am also looking at buying a HDMI DVD player (upscaling to 1080i) with usb which plays divx and xvids. Would this drive be ok for that as generally the dvd players are only usb 1.0?

Finally I have a lot of HD movies from Newsbins which are in wmv, will these be played as HD (I have a LG HD-TV) on my xbox 360?

Many Thanks.

It's the same drive and Ebuyer are still selling it for £47.57 if you use supersaver delivery and Google Checkout as per my post last week:
