First off, i know there are cheaper with buffalo/hitachi etc. However for quality i think western digital has the edge. (ive had a 500gb for some time now). Also buying for tesco, i believe this will give you more confidence in returns if need be, also theres the bonus of extra points!! This is the newer model (i believe)

This Western Digital elements 1TB desktop hard drive comes complete with a 3.5" hard drive that is compact and durable for extra data protection. It is simple to use with a USB 2.0 connection suitable for PC or Mac. An installation guide, USB cable and AC adapter are included.

Free delivery to store for collection, or £5 for delivery to your home

With the current offer at tescos to multiply your points by 4x, this can enable you to get £20 worth of vouchers (with some change)

http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/p.aspx?id=howtoorder

You will need a tesco card to take full advantage.

i haven't ever done quidco. how does it work? you purchase, and then you fill out something on quidco website and get some cash back to your account?

and WHY do they provide that money back?

If you go to the site (quidco.com) it'll tell you all about it.

You need to register with them, then click through to the relevant sites from quidco to qualify for the cash back. Quidco get paid a referral fee for any sales made and they pass some of that on to us as an incentive to go through them.

You don't buy a 3.5" external for portability.

It needs AC.

You buy a 3.5" external for storing stuff.

Don't vote an orange cold 'cos it doesn't taste of apple.

you can 'potentially' multiply your points by 4 online via link supplies in opening statement. Vouchers are then sent to you. These can include vouchers for prezzo/pizza express/strada to name a few. So £5 in points gives £20 in vouchers (with 108 points spare). There are also other things to convert them into, as well as using them in store for money off your shop. Hope that helps

Voted hot to balance out stupid vote....

Do you seriously think you'd get anywhere near this price for a 1TB USB powered external drive? (_;)

To work out the current price for 2.5inch (USB powered) external drives it seems you just have to take the amount of GB's it contains and move the decimal 1 place to the left and you get the cost in pounds e.g. 1000gb = £100 roughly.

For 3.5inch drives it's about half that. Double the size but half the price...
#26
i m sure those who moaned about this aint got portability will moan about the price of the 2.5" ones later one. people just hard to please these days.

Just picked mine up - thanks OP :)

I don't think scorpiostar understands the difference between 2.5" and 3.5"
#30
I also voted hot

I didnt get the 608 points only 108 so I had to email them to get them added. Dont know if they will tho
#32
I got this at 44.97 £ last week - It was the same price in the Tesco site but had a 10 £ voucher code on a 50+ £ purchase so making effectively 44.97 £ + Quidco 3% on top - Dunno if that voucher code is still there and valid ?? - But really good deal and hot definitely
