This is my first ever post so here goes.

I was in PC World Thurrock and found this deal. They had 2 left and i don't know if this is a national or store only but worth checking around.

You cant check stock online for this item so next time your near a PC World might be worth a look

Agreed, should work fine.

Great Deal / Price :) Heat added.

All it means is that it is formatted in HFS+. Plug it into any PC and format with whatever filesystem you please... I got one a while back and am happily using it hanging off a Ubuntu server...

.97p means clearance item so may be hard to find.. great price though. will nip to my local store to have a look.. usualy worth checking dixons/comet(?) also as they tend to have the same clearance items (owned by same company i believe)

Yup. Compatibile with time machin lol. Every single hd works with mac/time machine.

yellow stickers - always manager store specific - cold for me

we should have separate category for store specific deals
#15
Excellent.. I will check out our local store at lunch time.
#16
worth pointing out it requires a separate power supply as the 'plug&play via USB' line on the label might suggest its USB powered.

entry from PC World site for box content: External hard drive, WD SmartWare software (pre-loaded), USB cable, AC adapter, Quick Install Guide

Was gonna say I've got a wd caviar from ages ago with my OS on it and that's never given me issues seen as thought the OS is accessed daily.
The storage drives i have on the other hand have given me 7 levels of grief
#18
Vapourware probably - a great deal if you can find one!
#19
I paid £56.00 for a 320GB MyPassPort version, not sure of the different but for £10 less, I would take this one and get 3x as much storage! :@
#20
Can confirm its store specific as they have stock in my local store but I had the business manager scan one for me and it came up as £69.00 :S
#21
I wonder why its on clearance?
#22
Possibly if they know new stock is coming thru, with USB3 capability? This forum has had quite a few 1TB £40-50 deals of late and I wonder if the deals are in part due to that.

worked at pc world before. often they get supplied with a similar item maybe even from the same company just with a different model number. the higher levels of management etc all deal in model numbers, often no one willl know what xyz looks / functions like what until it'd arrive in store.
#24
Maybe people are realising the "Mac" version doesn't warranty exactly the same drive being more expensive because its formatted differently lol
#25
.97 = cold

called in. they do not have those in Lisburn store. the sales guy offered me WD Elements 1TB for 59.99 delivered.
