I would be interested in one of these at £50 but the voucher code doesn't seem to work :(

Edit: the code does work , it is meant to be a zero at the end but if you cut and paste you will find the one above has a capital O at the end!

There was an offer on the site a few weeks back to get a 500gb 3.5 Iomega drive,
that worked out at the same price as this one, but waited for a bargain 2.5 drive like
this to come along,as i wanted it to store all my photos on :)

How did you get quidco to track if you picked up in store, I thought you paid whilst picking up the goods?

you pay against the booking reference which tracks on quidco

How much is shipping if you don't collect?

Does anyone know whether this is PATA or SATA? I've had a search but no pages say which it is... it would make a nice upgrade for my Acer if it's SATA. ;)
#17
None in my local store so I plumped for the Iomega 500GB drive for £55 (I had a £50 Comet gift voucher). I too tried to order through Quidco but Comet was longer there (may be just me) so I went through topcashback - it has already tracked at £2.20!

I bought the 320Gb version of this drive which had a SATA WD Scorpio Blue drive in it.
(The WD Scorpio drive is supposedly the best drive to upgrade a PS3)

I removed it from the nice shiny black case (which is quite difficult without knowing how it's supposed to come out) and fitted the 320Gb into my PS3 to upgrade it.

If you don't want to break your new enclosure it comes out by using a jewellers screwdriver to gently unclip the long-edged side (not the short sides) then using a jewellers screw driver to gently slide it out away from the curved end (like a burritto).

I then put the old 40Gb PS3 drive into the shiny new WD case !!

I think the code should be NETDATA10 but not NETDATA1O

I picked a new one of these from eBay recently @ £49.99 delivered.

Formatted the HD to NTFS, as it came FAT32 - the electronic PDF manual on the HD is pretty brief with more help files is available on the Western Digital website. There was other software ready to be installed loaded on the HD, but nothing worth using.

I've spent the last couple of days, transferring files to the HD, pretty quick and silent running - played a few music and video files directly from the HD without any problems.

The shiny surface means that fingerprints are left easily and can be scratched easily, so I found that a DS case (easily picked up cheap on Dealextreme) are ideal carrying case for this portable HD.

Really happy with this device :)

Website just hangs if I try any Collect in Store link on product page

[size=3]This may be better value as it's a 320GB drive for £67.99 which is only pennies per gigabyte more and includes free shipping

Thanks to the OP.

I just picked up one of these at my local PC World for £45
Took my comet reservation in, asked them to price beat, He goes to ask the boss, comes back and says"We don't mess around, you can have it for £45."

I say "great, can I have white instead as they are the same price"
No problem!:santa: Christmas comes early!!

Does any one know if this is v2? The one with the blue light?
#37
I did post an alternative to this one in a seperate post for those that can't get this one or can't get to a store but it seems to have just drifted into the abyss.

Anybody that is interested have a look here, I got mine delivered for £46.15 as the quidco tracked (8%) and included the delivery charge.

Hope it helps someone http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/237097/western-digital-2-5-external-hard-d/

From the pictures it looks like the V1, with the rounded corners and lighter edging, designed to look like a small book.

Nice post. It shows how fickle people are on here. I think I'll use your method though since it does actually work out cheaper when factoring in Quidco AND has delivery.... sweet

Or get this one: http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/479934/WESTERN-DIGITAL-WDH1U5000?cm_sp=FeatureEnd-_-USB_/_CD_/_Hard_Drives-_-position2

used with voucher brings down to £54.99 and if quidco tracks this could be a further 8% off (about £4.40 i think) so potentially costing £50.59 but for a 500gb version. HOWEVER - this is a bulkier version and weighs 1500g as opposed to 303g for the OP. Food for thought if this was gonna be used as a desktop hard drive rather than portable, hope that helps. ;-)
