I know... Another post for an external hard drive, but with at least £5 off, this Western Digital 250GB Passport V2 which is powered by USB will be very useful for keeping those larger files on. It's now just £89.99 including free SuperSaver delivery and as I've said before, you can never have enough storage space...

Pack up your office files and take them home. Carry thousands of songs or pictures. These drives are simple to use, light and easy to carry, and require no power adapter - they are powered directly through the USB cable.Installation is a snap because you don't really "install" this drive; you just plug it in and it's ready to use. There is no CD to install; the included software loads from the drive the first time you plug it in. Powered by the USB bus, so no separate power supply needed.
This ultra-portable drive fits easily in your pocket or purse, weighs only a few ounces and holds tons of valuable data.

Anyone tried this on a MacBook Pro? It looks like a MacBook Pro probably won't supply enough power for it to be powered over USB, but I wondered if anyone knew for sure...

Are there any discount methods/codes for Amazon? I don't think they use Quidco, do they?

I saw one of these (or a similar one) by WD in a store yesterday. They are unbelievable small - they are absolutely beautiful. If I was buying an external HDD now (which I'm not, as I just turned my old internal HDD into an external one with some DIY kit) then I would go for one of the small ones, not the large mains-powered ones. That's my 2p worth.

And also, does anybody know if the drive used in this product is 9.5mm thick so that I could swap ot with the 160GB drive already in my MacBook.

I am waiting for this 320GB Toshiba drive to appear on the market otherwise.
