You can say that about any technology .. how long will it be b4 most people have machines capable of utilising USB3 that is the point. This is a good buy for 98% of people who are interested in this type of storage TODAY.

I stuck a £13 usb 3 card in my machine, and usb 3 cards are even available for laptops, so if you want a usb 3 port even on an old machine its not a lot of money for a massive speed boost.

Yes but THIS deal is for the above mentioned item. TODAY this is a good price for THIS product. I might even part with my own hard earned cash for one.

plus usb 3 approx £20 more for this size drive ??? i was pondering getting the usb 3 but as i will be using the drive between 3 desktops a laptop and 2 media centres its a no go for me i allready own the 1tb wd its an excellent drive

I already said it was a good deal and voted it hot, I was responding kz1qrt saying most machines could not do usb 3. When you are dealing with Hard drives of this size and moving video files about speed can matter.

To make things more specific where as you're both wrong in a sense there are many machines in service now which are not capable of USB3. So I'd say many but not most if that clarifies things hehe.

Me too, I was hoping for it to goto £72 ish so I could use my £2.50 amazon voucher, never saw it go back to £79.99 mind you I wasnt looking every sec of the day so must have missed it.

Anyone had any issues with there drive my first one died amazon sent replacement out next day like hope this ones gonna be ok i have 2 of the 1tb drives both those have been fine :)
