Why cold these drives were £59 in p.c world when on offer now think now £79

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/wd-elements-portable-hard-drive-500gb-black-02950021-pdt.html

Top 2.5 drive and better than Seagate anytime

And i will say again what i put in an other post!!

2.5 drives are much better because when you turn off such like t.v. PS3`s and Wii`s the drive is shut down as well, 3.5 ones dont, (as theres always external power going to them) they keep running unless they have build in software to shut them down if not been used for a while and most dont thus not good for the drive.

+ dont need an other power plug wall socket
+ they smaller
+ Will fit in your laptop if need one
+ Remove jumper pin to boost from 1.5Gbs to 3.0Gbs

And if you have ebay you might have been offered a Voucher code C-UKDEALD6 thus 10% off get the drive for £49.49

2.5. drives is the way to go

The harddisks in the Samsung S2's all have their SATA interface ripped out. This means u can forget about taking out the 2.5inch drive and using it elsewhere. It also means, if the case components are damaged, there's less chance of recovery, because you can't plonk the HD into another chasis. ;)

You forgot to say it is also more compact!

What you say is perfectly true, however if I wanted a bare drive then that is what I would buy. I recently bought a 640GB Samsung from Ebuyer for just under £60, no point in buying an external drive just to break open when the bare drive is cheaper. Also I don't plan on case damage.

So I still say the Samsung 640GB is the best value 2.5" external at the moment.

However if I do damage it, then that will be a major foot-in-mouth moment.

They have the plugin version at this price - the portable is £120ish.

You can get a Freecom 1tb for £70 delivered on there though. Not sure if Freecom are any good though. Reviews are good though.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freecom-31973-Hard-Drive-USB-2/dp/B002611YOM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274601152&sr=1-2
