I bought this hardrive a month ago for nearly £140 and I really recommend it. It is fast and quiet with firewire 400 and 800 and usb 2.0. It also has a supprisingly small footprint on my desk.

This is definintely the cheapest I've seen it.

But why is the PRO better than the PREMIUM?
is the difference between Pro and Premium is that former also has FireWire800?
Yes, the difference is that the PRO has Firewire 800 which is twice as quick as Firewire 400. The PREMIUM is also slightly heavier for some reason and it's a different colour (the premium is black). Maby the black paint wieghs more lol :?
do you know how easy is it to upgrade the enclosed HD in the future?
I have this one and it looks lush next to mu silver mac mini. Speeds are excellent and you can use it on both macs and pc's with no probs - in the future you could always daisychain via firewire buy buying more of these if you need more space.
yeah i wonder how easy it is to upgrade the HD in the enclosure???
The price has now risen again I think.

WD support says the case has to be broken to get to the drive, it's factory sealed. So it's not worth doing, best to build your own with an external enclosure if you plan to upgrade the drive in the future.
