Now i know there's a post for a Samsung drive at £62. Do NOT BUY!!!!
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-f4-ecogreen-2tb-32mb-5400rpm-3-5-inch-sata-ii-internal-hard-drive-61-94/862127

I ordered one was delivered today with a thud on the ground!!! Amazon send it via royal mail. If you want to risk 2TB worth of data being lost to a dropped drive then your choice. So ive requested a return and ordered this drive as it comes in a Box and Western Digital Offer a good after service.

If that really did happen then it is a one off from an Amazon Employee who does not realise HDD go into padded boxes to prevent that. Amazon will also replace free of charge. Why pay £7 more because there is a 1 in 1000 chance you might have to order a replacement? stupid. Cold.

And what are you talking about. This deal is OEM Amazon too, Both drives are unboxed that is what OEM means. And the you say do not buy other drive as Amazon send it Royal mail but THIS is Amazon too.

And last time I checked HDD were sent blank, what data are you loosing when it drops on the ground BLANK?

£70.95 if you want it in a box....otherwise it will come the same as the Samsung ones...

This also has a damaging firmware by being 'eco' and parking the heads after only 8 seconds of inactivity. With a 300k cycle count it will not last the warranty...

Cold from me as i would rather have the Samsung.

in answer to your question. A hard drive can appear 100% fine until reaching a certain segment! so you can save data to a drive until you hit a bad sector.

If you choose "Traditional" packaging the order is then NOT fulfilled by Amazon.....

"Dispatched from and sold by ADMI Limited. "

Only real difference i can see if 64MB of cache?? Unless i'm missing something obvious...

Would rather the 32MB of cache than loose up to 2TB of data when the drive decides to die in a year or 2.

So because your ONE Samsung drive (the best drive on the market) was dropped, EVERYONE should buy the WD drive instead?

This will be the fault of one employee. I had the same drive in same plastic however packaged in the usual box you expect for OEM HDD a brown oblong box with foam inside.
