seems like a good price but I've never heard of or used pricelover before so would be wary.

The WD1002FAEX is inferior to the cheaper WD1060FAZX,but if I were you,i'd shell out slightly more and go for the WD2002FAEX,if you can't then the WZ1040FAEX is a good alternative, the WD1066FAAZ or WD1702FAET would also be a good choices.

Did you pull out those model no. out of a hat? Googled most of them and none appear. Would be great if you could supply a link or some info to support this drive is inferior. I'm not having a stab at you, but I am looking at these hard drives, but would like to know what you mean by inferior. Thanks.

As clear as mud, that was! All I know is I got one of these for my Sky+HD box, and it's cool, silent, and doesnt skip a beat even when recording 2 HD channels while playing back a third HD channel. Heat added, think i paid over £80 at Scan for mine.

I have paid for this Hard Drive because I liked the reviews and THIS IS THE BEST PRICE which is why I posted, to share my find with others. 8ms Access time is pretty fast for this size and budget.

I can't find any info on the models you quote?

I can't vouch for whether Pricelover is a good or bad site but it is the cheapest for this particular model, I nearly went to dabs with 3.5% Quidco but this offer still works out better.

Sad to see my post go cold but if you vote cold please say where you found it cheaper because that is the idea.

Hot if good deal, Cold if bad deal.

Thanks. Just needed to rant.

Let me balance this back on the warm side. Heat+ :). I also have 1 of these drive used in my RAID 5, its pricier than other 1Tb Hdds, but it's worth it :P.
