Cheapest ever 1TB drive?

Western Digital Caviar GP 1TB WD10EACS SATAII 7200rpm 16mb Cache - OEM

Same drive and spec as the recent offer from Aria but slightly cheaper. Plus the Aria one only lets you buy one drive at this price. I just bought four of these from Tekheads for a 4TB RAID array.

Postage is from £5.50 for next day or collect for free!

No problem.

Can't understand the cold votes. Any of you care to explain?

Probably Technophobes, looks good to me, I paid around £90 a month ago for my 1TB Seagate SATA HD.

Have some heat.

Slight error in the description, this is a 5400rpm drive not a 7200rpm ones.

A great drive though, good performance, very quiet and much less power consumption than other 1TB drives. A very nice price too, although it's a shame they're charging so much for postage.

Most of the sites I've checked quote this as a 7200 RPM drive. This review here (linked to by Western Digital) states that it achieves its low power rating by "variable spinning speed: 5,400 - 7,200 RPM".

For this price you can get a Samsung F1 from Aria (SuperSpecials) - so voting cold :(

personally after dealing with company i'd go elsewhere,i had to chase them up for a refund which took around 8 weeks in total, and ended up paying a restocking fee of 20% as they supplied a monitor with dead pixels but there policy is not to give a full refund if theres less than 7? factor in the 20% and its always going to be cheaper to go elsewhere
