Round and round and round and round...

Thank you ordered now for the waiting game.

£48.10 from another seller using the same link, and in stock.

Will have to have a plug adapter though.
#4
For the sake of 89p mate, I reckon this is a better deal.

A good adaptor will cost more than that!

Can see your point about the "in stock" though. However, I've ordered things from amazon in the past that said 1-2 months but they arrived within a week!

#6
I thought was good at £ 52 last week when I ordered it so this is very good. I've been watching the 2 TB one, it,s still £73
#7

#8

Phoned them when it was £52 and the women said it was right that it will take over a month .

For anyone who's thinking of getting a hard drive - I'd advise against waiting. The earthquake and tsunami in Japan are going to make deals less common for a good few months.
#12
Scan are doing it for £53.99 in TODAY ONLY section

WD are made in Thailand aren't they? Come to think of it are any hard drives made in Japan?

how is this hot, its not even in stock. the price might be good but by the time you get it prices for the equivalent or more could have dropped.

It's not the drives, it's the components for the drives. Yeah, the factory is in Thailand, but some of those components come from suppliers in Japan. I work in the industry, trust me, there's going to be shortages in supply. When supply's low, nobody needs to do deals to get orders.

Thanks Andy, I ordered yesterday hot for me !

That was fast!
I ordered it on the 2nd which was a holiday and it reached me , this morning.
BitsandBobs4U are FAST!

That said, It does come with the 2-pin plu, but i had an adapter with me, so, its ok.

But, this drive is S-L-O-W!
I'm getting 11 to 14 MBps. Thats ridiculously slow.
Damn!

I have these Elements disks too.. they are slooooww at about 10 mbyte/s on average. So I used them as second copy backup. I do have a set of 2 internal SATA disks put into eSATA enclosure (using eSATA for data transfer) and they are 80Mbytes/s on average (mixture of large video to small text files). One 2TB SATA + eSATA enclosure work out to be about £86 (from SCAN). Cheapest 2TB WDC Elements is £66.50. But for £20 extra you get that much more performance plus that the enclosure is reusable.
