hmm good price but it requires an ac adaptor which is not ideal
#7
Its not a portbable drive so i wouldnt see the ac adaptor as an issue.

I grabbed the 2 tb version for £56 a few weeks back, still hot heat added its a nice piece of kit..

When was this 2tb available? Is it still available and was it an external like this or an internal?

if you store all of your media on this, shouldn't you buy 2 to back up the back up? these hard drives can fail at any time.

You can still get it for around that prices at pixmania, £7 postage, but still works out at £56.

I don't get the "it's not portable" whining.

If it was the size and weight of a metal rubbish skip then yes I'd agree it wasn't portable. But it's not.

It's as portable as you want it to be. Still for this price it's a hot deal and whilst the data storage size is not for me (gonna need at least 2tb for my porn collection ;)) I can see it will benefit others.

Hot deal!!

I've been lookin at this for a while so that I can back up my PS3 before I replace the orginal hard drive.
(A measly 40GB:( ) Finally got around to ordering a new internal 640GB hard drive and needed this first lol.
I'm plannin on formatting about 500GB of this external drive to FAT32 (PS3 only recognises FAT32 not the NTFS format normally used in Windows), hopefully that doesn't take too long, then back to gaming :D

It's not portable... KILL!! KILL! KILL!

That made me lol :)

What does everyone mean by not portable?? Just ordered one to save all my mp3s onto and worried about taking it abroad with me now!
#27
Miss nix, Its alot bulkier than most due to outter casing.
So it makes it a bit more less portable because they can't lift this and a laptop at the same time XD

My understanding was that the difference is whether you need an external power supply or not.

That's what I thought too. Size wise they're both the same, but portable only plugs into usb port on pc and non-portable plugs into pc and power supply.
