Its been around this price for a little while now- maybe even a pound or 2 cheaper. Good hard drive though, but not a great deal.

Waste of £5 over the Hitachi deal

Better to have 2x 1tb than 1x 2tb, IMO. Good price.

Another good price, can't believe how cheap these 1TB drives are getting!

Anyone know any good deals on eSata drives though, transferring any large amount of content to these drives takes ages!

Whats the transfer rate like on these things?? Just bought the Hitachi/Tesco for collection on Thursday as picking up new PC on Saturday, just thought i'd treat myself as opposed to writing all my data to 4.7gb dvd. And was intending to use this as a slave drive for all my downloads to go onto, but if it can't write at 950 kbps (think thats right) that i download at, it will struggle, any help appreciated.

That's 1Mb, don't drives write at somethink like 100Mb?? Either way, a hard drive should write a hell of a lot faster than your internet.

Got my one delivered at the weekend. Tidy drive, smaller than my WD MyBook drives and quieter too.

Hot.

I've got one of the older models of these Elements drives. Looks like I'll need to be getting a new one soon and will probably get this one. :)

So do these have an separate external power supply or do they get their power from the usb alone?

1tb usb powered drives are a lot more expensive than this.

Will this be a good companion for the range of Western Digital media players or are there better set-ups available?

These will transfer about 1GB in a minute, so about 16.7MB (or 133.6 Mb) per second.
