I do not know a lot about these things but WD seem to have a good reputation and this price looks attractive

I'm looking to buy one of these as a computer back-up and as extra storage for my Humax Foxsat, I hope it will do the job.

£45-50 seems to be the norm for 1tb now - but because there are so many to choose from I just can't decide which brand to get - any suggestions?

Just wondering if the prices are going to decrease more soon too....

I bought one of these for £50 from pc world the other day, they also had 2 terabyte ones for £69 and 1 terabyte iomega ones for £59 which comes with a 3 year warranty. Seems fairly sturdy and reliable .Only thing i noticed was an average transfer speed, but still good for price, and more than enough space to fill up with photos, movies etc. Hot

Have had one of these WD ones for about a year now and its been in constant use. Definately reliable, trustworthy and v.quiet so would recommend them on my own experience

Good piece of kit but spotted in Tescos this morning for £44.99.
Was western digital 1tb.

Also spotted an iomega 2tb for 89.99.

Pixmania? I would rather pay slightly more to Amazon.

VAT is now 20% so that would account for some of the increase.

I know, but be fair I only said it accounts for some of the increase.
