Good call, but still a very good price @ £96.50.
Anything else come close?

Isn't file sharing illegal?

That would depend upon which files you are sharing.

Free £7 voucher for both you and a friend at Pixmania
this thingy still works, although I've received code only next day, anyway worth a try

Also worth pointing out that anyone who attempted to order the mis-priced LED TV from them before would have got a £25 off £150 voucher. This rather handily brings the price of a pair of these hard drives down to £161.30 inc vat+delivery, i.e. £80 each.

Bug.ger filling this thing up at USB 2 speeds :whistling:

Just bought one of these recently (when the last deal for DSG was posted). My only gripe is the transfer speed - slow! Have a look arounf the forums before deciding to buy. It seems many of these drives can't reach their advertised speeds & WD don't seem to be saying much about it.

I only use mine for back-up storage, so the speed isn't too much of a concern. Good price as the DSG deal is no longer available.

I'm not sure what you mean by this - it's limited to the speed of the USB2 interface, and this limitation has absolutely nothing to do with WD

I'ml aware of the limitations imposed by usb2. What I said was that the drive does not reach the advertised speeds & in many cases performs well below the specification claimed by WD. Their own support forums have a number of complaints of unacceptably slow transfer speeds across their range of external drives.

Only trying to allow an informed purchasing decision!

Heat. Ordered!

Pixmania are not rated highly, but ive never had a problem. Yet! theres always a 1st time!

Definite buy at this price !

OK, ive had a problem. It just arrived, and its got an EU plug!!!

Pixmania had the nerve to include an empty UK plug, not an adaptor, but a UK plug, so I would need to rewire it, and therefore void the warranty!

Flaming CHEEK! This is so going back!!!

Pixmania - Do Not Trust Them !

It Was Badly Packeged Also. Hard Drives Should Not Be Dropped Etc, You Can Bet A Box Inside A Box Which Is Too Big, Got Rattled, Dropped Etc.

There Was No Packaging Or Bubble Wrap Either!

Not hugely impressed with the packaging and as mentioned above it seems to be an import with EU plug. Oh well, still cheap anyway. 2TB disks on there own without the enclosure sell for £100 upwards.

There's any number of 2TB USB drives available for the same price from UK sellers :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003IPC21Y - £94.99
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/204506 - £94.99
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/198581 - £96.97
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/222089 - £99.99

Hell, the first two in that list are actually cheaper with the included delivery cost :)

This worked out at £160 inc when buying two, I used the free £25 voucher they gave out to the masses of people who attempted to buy that mispriced LED TV a few months ago.
