I have a couple of the 1TB versions. Those do need an external power cable (supplied) to work.

Does this one support DLNS for the PS3 media streaming thing ?

Just ordered one - H & R added - good spot! I've been looking for a decent external HD for a few weeks and this looks like a good price for the amount of storage.

I think it's DLNA, and why would you need it with this as it's not a NAS drive, it connects via USB. you need DLNA for a NAS drive i.e for streaming content from a network attached storage drive

Didn't these WD get a lot of bad comments on the net for being unreliable?
#23
Is that not the 500GB? I believe these are the newer 320GB per platter HDD and have had good reviews thus far. I could be wrong so please post a link.

For anyone who wants to pick one up sooner , and at a slightly cheaper price (£1.50) - price match in PCWorld.

Print out the Ebuyer page
Print out the PC World price match page as it's amazing how many staff don't seem to know it :whistling:

Price should be 59.95 - (1.50) = 58.45

As PC World have it for 74.99.

There's also the potential 2.5% Quidco there too but not tried it on a collect at store pricematch myself.

yes NTFS wont work on the ps3. i suggest you create a partion and have one as FAT32 for your ps3 content and NTFS for anything else
