Cheaper here - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136212

And even if it was half that price I wouldn't touch it, WD are nothing but trouble.

No doubt they have more that work than those that fail, but the faliure rate on WD drives is MUCH higher than any other manufacturer.

My 250gb one suddenly died!! Funny thing was WD were recommended to me by people as they are a well known brand and now my drive doesn’t work.

Yes they cover it with a 2 year manufacture warranty but you have to send your drive off for them to fix it and even then they won’t retrieve the data for you so you end up losing everything you had. The only option I have is to get someone to open it up and try retrieving what they can. I paid around £60 for my 250gb just over a year ago...it lasted about a year and for no reason whatsoever wont power on.

Decent reliable external hard drives are hard to find but I know WD won’t be on the list in the future.
