Erm... photo is wrong, I think. The link is to the USB 2.0 version, which has a green button. The photo is of the blue-button firewire version.

I think this is the same price at amazon already?

yes - exact same price on amazon

Thanks for this :) As above same price at Amazon if you can't find one in PCWorld http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48036

Ordered one and collected it within 15 minutes from PC World Luton. There is a queue of people collecting this drive in Luton so you gotta be quick

Better than the ugly Iomega drive I bought from ebuyer last week - which is on its way back to them now ;-)

Yes it's the same price from Amazon but you can't collect from Amazon. I collected mine from PC World within 15 minutes.
#11
That's true, but PCWorld are likely to sell out in different areas, so it's an alternative if you can't get one there :)

Thanks for the feedback by the way reaey.

I'd rather buy from Amazon than PC world every day of the week.

You could also get the iomega 500GB USB2 equivalent for 109.26 plus delivery (around 6 pound) from Dabs (quicklinx: 4C06WS)

I did mention it was the same price as amazon but without the week long wait (for some). Collected mine today Carlisle (still have stock) yes it does have a green gutton :giggle:

Not sure I fully understand what you're saying here

I used to be Anti-PC World until they introduced collect-at-store and offered online discounts. I've been dealing with the Luton branch (3 miles away) and the staff there have been very friendly and helpful everytime.

I like Amazon too but why would I wait for their extremely-slow free-delivery if I can just pick it up from PC World in ten minutes.

It's up to you though, you can enjoy waiting for Amazon while I enjoy my new western digital drive :p

It's ultra-fast by the way - at least when compared to the 500gb Iomega crap I bought from ebuyer last week :whistling:

They've had a long time to improve :) I agree if you can collect it and it's in-stock, then why not.

Well - I preferred buying four 500Gb drives for £76 each from amazon

I buy from pc world sometimes but I am fed up buying items that have obviously been opened (returns) or are damaged. They are also a pita to get returns sometimes.

I also get 1% cashback on amazon and feel good because I'm not polluting the environment driving out of town to go to pc world.

Very tempted ... do all external drives require mains power though?

Not all of them require mains power, only the desktop ones (like the one in this thread).

The one in this link (http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45156&highlight=passport)
doesn't require mains power.

That's still a very good price too for 120gb 2.5" portable USB2 powered drive.

Now the second "Add To Basket" link on Amazon though :)
