I agree, I think its some sort of new automated link as it seems to appear on all the latest amazon deals. If it's my error, I'm sorry as I may have clicked on something by mistake.

By the way I would personally stick with the 250GB, I have had one for 6 mths now and I can't fault it. All I recomend is to remove the preloaded software and reformat it before use.

Errrrrr Windows maybe :p
Just use Disk Management (Right click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage')
However using FAT32 you will be limited to single files no bigger than 4 GB minus 1 byte (232−1 bytes), which can be a problem if like me you have some large HD mkv's. Personally I would use NTFS as it's a much better file system imo.
The only reason I would use FAT32 would be for maximum compatibility with other systems and devices!

You should be able to use any usb drive. Atm im using an old 2.5" laptop drive in a cheap caddy from deal extreme and a seagate 1tb drive.

Although it is described as a portable drive it has a 3.5" disk compared to a 2.5" that this one and most portable drives have. It also weighs a Kilo compared to 300 grams.......so, not really a portable drive by the usual standards.

and it's not USB powered!
