Flubit with Amazon?

Western Digital Red - The new colour of NAS.

WD Red hard drives are designed and tested for compatibility in the unique 24x7 operating environment and demanding system requirements of home and small office NAS.

Main Features:
The right choice! - No other drive is designed specifically for home and small office NAS systems.

Exclusive NASware technology - Our exclusive technology, NASwareT, makes WD Red thrive in the demanding small-NAS environment.
Energy efficient and money saving - We keep power consumption low which keeps your NAS system happy and your wallet, too.
NAS compatibility - NASware - Advanced firmware technology built into every WD Red drive, enables seamless integration, robust data protection and optimal performance for systems operating in NAS and RAID environments.
3D Active Balance Plus - Our enhanced dual-plane balance control technology significantly improves the overall drive performance and reliability. Hard drives that are not properly balanced may cause excessive vibration and noise in a multidrive system, reduce the hard drive life span, and degrade the performance over time.

Energy efficient - Reduce your electricity bill and carbon footprint with WD Red drives. Innovative technology reduces power consumption and lowers the operating temperature, resulting in a more reliable and affordable solution for always on 24x7 NAS environments.

Longer warranty coverage - The WD Red drive is backed by a 3-year limited warranty for greater peace of mind.

The secret is in the technology - WD's exclusive NASware technology improves NAS storage performance by reducing common hard drive concerns in NAS systems including concerns for things like compatibility, integration, upgrade ability, reliability and cost of ownership that are experienced with a hard drive designed for desktop computers.

Enhanced reliability - Your NAS systems is always on, a highly reliable drive is essential. With a 35% MTBF improvement over standard desktop drives, the WD Red drive is designed and manufactured to be a more reliable and robust solution.

Pretty decent and fair if you ask me and I paid £64 for a WD Green 1TB a few months back,
#2
It now says "click buy" to pre-order now

CCL are expecting a delivery tomorrow and, from my experience, they are excellent with pre-order fulfilments

If you're awaiting the usual Amazon price match, it'll be for the "Frustration Free" packaging version which went oos on the last price match @ £84.73 - and is now showing as "1 to 3 months dispatched" @ £87.49

I also eventually received my last TCB payment ok from CCL

Amazon have now price matched CCL @ £84.73 - AGAIN!! - for the FFP version.

Select the FFP option in the menu
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CYGSFPU

There is a "Usually dispatched within 1 to 3 months" tag but if you prefer to order from Amazon with Frustration Free Packaging, they usually deliver sooner.
You could try Flubit re the Amazon price

The extra year's warranty is only worth the price difference (£8 - £10)

So this is a cheaper option - At the same deal value - If you don't think that the drive will fail between exactly 3 and 4 years old
And Amazon are oos anyway

If these drives fail - it'll be in the first year

In 3 years time (which these drives are covered for) they'll probably be replaced by a WD 3tb SSD Red version anyway

Why spend £10 on a "chocolate tea pot" Extended Warranty?

I read it was a good idea to change these every two years in your NAS, so good price.

I got these for £89 a while back and I don't get why these deals get so hot - it's few pence less after a few months.
It may make a difference if you're buying in huge quantities, but I doubt many are buying more than 3.
An ok deal, but not as hot as it is now.

The difference between the prices on WD Reds over the last year has been 10% - max

But that's what HUKD is about - finding the best deal

£84.73 is the cheapest ever price for this drive (discounting Flubit where the 3 year warranty might come under scrutiny) so HUKD members can only vote on current market prices - which have slowly dropped

The 3TB WDRed had dropped about £40 in the last year which is nearer a 30% drop

I purchased a WD 3TB Red in August last year for £98
That's around when they dropped below £100 for the first time

The price is up and down every few hours with Amazon
The FFP 3y warranty version is now £88.20 and the 4y warranty version is £90.84
Both have a "Usually dispatched within 1 to 3 months" tag

CCL currently have stock @ £84.73

It's your choice but If you go through TCB, that's eventually another £2 back from CCL which brings it to a difference of approx. £8 and the prices will probably change again soon

Update: Back down to £84.73 with Amazon again - see what I mean!
