Ignore my post if you saw it... Price is correct and it's not a Marketplace seller... Sorry :)

It's actually £35.75 once you select the packaging.

Should mention it's a marketplace seller (Inkubus Bargains.)

The price is £38.98 as above - from Amazon.co.uk directly (not a marketplace seller) - for both packaging options.

Not sure where you see the marketplace price of £35.75?

I never post marketplace deals btw.

the scorpio blue series of laptop hard drives are actually slow for modern hard drives. It is claimed that this 500gb series is a little better than the smaller capacities. This particular model is three years old now, and the Scorpio Black might be available for slightly more.

Of course none of this matters if you are putting it in a ps3....

If you have free postage with Scan you can still get the WD5000BPVT for £34.79 delivered - link.

I had this HDD and had to return it due to it stuttering whilst playing BBC iPlayer and some games, Amazon gave me a full refund and I ordered a different one. I know people who have it and don't have a problem but I certainly did and this fix didn't help;

http://www.avforums.com/forums/ps3-media-streaming/1172704-fix-if-youre-having-problems-iplayer-momentarily-freezing-every-few-seconds.html

I bought this one instead and it's been great for me;

I concur this! heard about the sketchy WD's not working with iPlayer, obviously if you don't use it then not an issue, but went with a samsung instead too and all good!

whats with wd and their colour hdds

Just upgraded my laptop drives and a pair of these were inside, they are now in my ps3 and an enclosure. I wouldn't worry about these speed wise since the ps3 limits drive speeds to 5,400rpm anyway.

I believe: green is eco friendly, blue is middle of the road or budget drives and black is performance, why the heck they chose those colours and didn't just call them eco, everyday and performance I don't know.

Ah guess my info was a bit outdated.

lol I wouldn't worry about it, I thought the same I just remembered reading a while ago about them making some. In other news people have been shoving the 12.5mm drives in their ps3's by customising the drive cages ;

Call me a casual user, but what the hell could you fill up 1TB on a PS3 with anyway? Theres only so many game saves, films, apps and custom firmwares out there have stored on the HDD.
#25
I totally agree, I have a 320gb HDD in one and a 500gb in the other, I have a large game collection and a healthy amount of PSN titles, a few films, no music but 10-20gb would sort that and I have loads of space left.

I am sure they are good drives now, but I got burnt so badly with the Hitachi 'Travelstar' in the past that I personally don't trust them.
