The hitachi drive is an awesome price, under £30 for a 500gb 2.5" drive is about as good as you will find at the moment, and it doesnt appear to be a bigger 12mm drive either as its listed as 1cm, and normal 2.5" drives are 9.5mm.
#10
Yeah i thought the same at first but the form factor of this one is 2.5" x 1/6H normal one's is 2.5" x 1/8H I wish i can get more information about what means by 1/6H and 1/8H

According to the link below, the drive height is 9.5mm, so indeed for that price a great deal. If only I haven't had terrible experience with a Hitachi Travelstar in the past... but that was 8 years ago or so to be fair, so might not be relevant anymore.

Had a look at few other drives in ebuyer....every other drive is specified as 1/8H only this one is specified as 1/6H. if this is not a 12mm drive i would agree that's a good price for 500gb drive...by the way they also have another hitachi drive at higher price....

But any one here let me know the difference between 1/6H and 1/8H... I am still confused with this. I brought a 12 mm drive previously and it is not suitable with my hard drive caddy...so i sold it for a cheaper price....Don't want to do that mistake again....

This is the model on ebuyer 5K500B and lists the Hitachi as 9.5mm.

Are you asking if this will work in an XBox - sorry, not sure as your post has **** in it.

If so, then the answer, I believe, is yes but you will only be able to use/see 250Gb as the XBox, currently, doesn't support drives larger than this.

In which case, you are better off going for a WD5000BEVT which can be had for about £30.

this is the same drive as what is inside the buffalo hdd caddy from asda for £35, so you could buy that and swap the disk on your ps3 with the one in the external drive...
#17
**** - I find the Hitachi, ask if its suitable and I find it is and then people rush over and buy it before I get home to order LOL :D

RE: PS3 I have read this drive's spin up time (i.e. time taken to come out of it's idle state) can affect gameplay. I got a Samsung drive instead!
