No

Better off with a Sumvision Cyclone!
#7
Mate has one of these and rates it! Although I think i'd spend a little more and get the one with a network card...

Streams 1080p flawlesly!!!

Good find, have some heat

Just make sure you are aware that this model is the MINI - not that great IMHO

The other two available models are the original WDTV - which is under £70 most places, or the 'new' Live model which includes networking, but is around £100.

Not voted either way, but this is average price for the MINI.

rhis ones specs specifically state it cannot play 1080p or 720p videos.

seems like a xvid player. in which case get xbmc on an onld xbox.
#11
Pay £20 more to get the standard WDTV with ability to play MKV @1080p with hdmi out.
#12
As already said by others. not an outstanding price for the MINI version.

Personally wouldnt see the point in buying one of these when for an extra £20 or so you can get the Original HDMI version.

Will this play Matroska and does it support DTS?
#14
Only 1080i .. so not worth it.

Get the 1080p version for a few quid more

Not great with no mkv or 264 playback.... will stick with my Popcorn Hour !

Apologies but can someone explain how these actually work? I've a few deals on HUKD and I'm pretty sure this is what I'm looking for.

My main questions:
-What does it stream from?
-What does it stream to?
-Er, how does it actually work?!

Thanks in advance.

streams from a USB HD or pendrive to TV via HDMI cable using a nice interface as opposed to windows 3 esque folders

sorry this may not be hdmi as its the mini, not sure.

The WD HD TV which is approx £20 more as mentioned supports HD and uses HDMI

Do any of these offer DTS downstreaming via HDMI?

Edit: Sorry, didn't see K1LLER HORNET's comment above

Probably not for me then if I'm honest, I'm far too lazy to start messing around with files, if I'm going to do that then I may as well just stick with the PS3.

Thanks, rep left.
