Just bought another 2 of these to feed my media player to the AV system, that should be enough for a few hundred more films.

First time I've seen these nice drives at under £50.

Postage is £6.90 for one or less for more.

Quidco helps cancel that out.

Good price, but £6.90 postage is a dealbreaker. £9.50 for two...

Cold cant find this for 49.90 its like 56.00 with postage, and also worst company to deal with.

Good luck if the drive is damaged on delivery and you trying to return it

dont need one at the moment, still hot!!

Hot but the £7 for snail delivery is offputting along with their rep.

I am desperately wanting a £50 2tb but I may have to pass

Great price, shame about the company selling it. I wouldn't order anything from Pixmania again after my last experience.
#13
Stupidly good price, wow!
#14
Wow! I'm still waiting for 2TB internal drives to drop to £50 yet these external ones are less than this. Hot even with the delivery charge.

Yeah, pixmania suck. They're the crappy online arm of Dixons. Bunch of jokers.
#16
Such a shame about that postage... Hot though for under £50!

Something else to bear in mind, is that £55 gets you a Samsung EcoGreen 2TB HDD which is FAST AS HELL. Then all you need is a ESATA dock, and boom... you're off - So, SO, SOOOO much faster. Just like having the drive in your machine.

Once it's full, just swap it out. FTW! You can get a USB + ESATA drop-in dock on Amazon around £15.

Where is still available for £55?

Cold. Very bad company to deal with. Way too high postage costs and they also add stuff to your basket without permission

I've bought a few items from Dixons - TZ10, x2 WD 2TB USB and a 32" TV which was returned with no hassle.

Why stay clear? Pixmanina have nothing to do with it, if the drive breaks or goes wrong the RMA will be with WD so there's no problems at all as there turn around is fast so the price is hot. Ive just bought a 2tb USB3 as USB2 is old hat now and even if you don't have the facilities for it you may aswell be ready for when you do as USB3 will be with us for a good while if USB2 is anything to go by.

You surely appreciate that comment regarding 'buying air' was merely to highlight how badly that person thinks of Pixmania's service? Of course it wasn't meant literally, stating the obvious that Pixmania don't sell oxygen really isn't going to win you any awards for your rapier wit.

Looks a good deal anyway, I have a 1.5TB WD Elements drive, and it's been running well for ages. Heat added.

Will Western Digital's warranty cover what's likely to be a grey import, though?

I've seen a few people **** off Play and I've never had any issues, so sometimes the odd negative comment can be ignored.

However, there's no ignoring the amount of people who have bad words to say about Pixmania. The proportion of negative comments suggest they really aren't worth the hassle.

Pay that little bit extra for your own piece of mind, and support a company who deserves it.

Your experience of WD RMA is much better than mine then.
Sent a drive back that had 18 months warranty left, gave me a replacement after 6 weeks of waiting only to find I only had 3 months warranty left on it. All trace of my HDD serial number was wiped off the face of the earth so I had no evidence.
It took 2 weeks of posting negative comments (not abusive but factual) on WD sites all over the world, each time being banned from posting comments before someone in the US finally realised they had messed up.
When I checked the serial number of my old drive a week later the drive had a full warranty back on it so had obviously been re-shipped as new after repair.

The contract of sale is with Pixmania and not WD if the item is faulty it should be sent back to Pixmania.

from the replies il wait for amazon to come up wid a price match
#36
great price but just be aware that it comes with a 2 pin plug and adapter so it takes alot of space.
#37
good price although my lat 2 WD disks failed within 6 months and after reading lots of different forums this seemed to be a common thing for WD, moreso than other makes. The support at WD also sucks when trying to RMA
