Even with P&P it's still the cheapest I've seen out there. Bought one of these just after christmas... very quiet and doesn't heat up as much as my old 250gb freecom drive. Good product and would definitely recommend.

not sure i would order from pixmania considering the alleged fail rate of these things :(

I've got 2 WD EHD's. different models had one for 2.5 years and one for 1.5 years and not a single problem, having said that I use them at most on a month basis for back ups archiving. I'd happily buy this, but remember no way of saving data is fool proof! I'm looking for a 2tb drive now purely to back up the two 1tb drives I have. 1tb is way too much data to risk with just one copy.

Also, when I brought my other drives WD had a registration service for warranty purposes which made me feel more secure just in case anything went wrong. Can't comment on pixmania tho

i would be interesting to see if it is possible to Raid external HDD :D so they do auto backup, make dulipcate copies etc

If you use a Mac it's easy to RAID external HDs. You can use Disk Utility to set it up. I would be very surprised if you couldn't do this with a PC too.

my only issue with these drives is no on/off switch, bought a my book last month and its been great, but was only 1tb and near full already.. think go back to getting internals :)

Pixmania (though french based) and Dixons are all part of the same group !

True, But as MANY hukd members can vouch for, Dixons Customer service and aftyer sales support are far superior.

Also i will never forgive them for not delivering my full hd 50" plasma for £129 ;)
