Ebuyer delivery is top notch IMHO, I have not faced any issues with them. Even free delivery has turned up the next day for me.

Free, must be trolls that just vote stuff cold because they can, and no reson given, you take time to post and they just like to wreck deals.

Wish everyone that voted cold would leave a trace, and I would just vote their stuff cold all the time.

This is an amazing deal,

No surer way to go cold than to give a deal 10 mins then start whining.

damn it, i just ordered thru amazon -- they have this deal were you sign up to a free trial 1 month with amazon prime and will delivery tomorow. then u can can cancel the amazon prime -- hopefully i will get it tomorrow!!
great deal by the way -- was looking all week and cheapest was £77-( not sure if that included delivery)

This is hot! I've been monitoring the price of these for the last couple of months and I gave up waiting for a price drop and bought it last week!! Luckily it was cheaper than Amazon's old price at £71 delivered from Box.co.uk. so I haven't missed out by much. This is the cheapest you can get this for though. Heat added :)

Why cold? this went super hot last time it was this price and that was months ago.
Can you find it cheaper ? please let me know and I will cancel my order

Don't worry, most deals are voted cold by the sad little people at first. This will get hot soon enough.

Great player, have one myself and it just works. Would be nice if it could gather information about movies from IMDB and sort by rating, etc but apart from that very happy with it.
#11
Not voting hot as prefer ones with internal HDD's and no idea of prices on these - did see one with 500gb hdd that played mkv's on here for around £50 last week, that and the whining after 2 mins puts me off voting hot ;)

Same here, still great

Got one of these and besides a few niggles with a few versions of the firmware they are great. They have added more and more features and tweaks and its near perfect now.

If anyone is wondering I've got mine connected to a WD external HDD (off of HUKD too). Advantage is bigger drives are coming down in price all the time so very easy to get a new HDD whereas you'd be stuck if it was built in. Streaming also works well if the network is fast enough.

Does any standalone player exist that you can put XBMC on - or does it need to be an actual computer ?

wow. thanks for that helpful, not to mention insightful, contribution...oO

best price for this so it doesn't take a dummy to know it's hot.

for those sitting in judgment, the op wasn't whining at all. very quickly, and for no reason given, numpties were voting it cold. op asked a simple question, as many do - if voting cold, please be helpfully constructive and say why.

media players seem to be a p**is substitute on this site. they come in all shapes and sizes. one person feels threatened by the ability of another's.....mine is bigger and better than yours....it goes on...and on....

ain't it what you can do with it that counts? that and the price?!

wow thanks for your insightful comments........................

I didn't vote cold, just don't see the appeal of these as having to hook up a secondary external drive or stream just isn't as efficient as an internal one (hope that makes it clearer for you). I have a PCH but didn't feel the need to mention it as its not a p1ssing contest, I just read lots of problems people suffer with streaming - especially 1080p content over these types of media boxes, so although its cheaper than others (such as PCH) I don't see it being as good value if it struggles with certain content which isnt initially made clear on many of these deals, also you may end up having to replace homeplugs or upgrade wifi routers if its not up to it, so the cost increases so the initial price is a misnomer - bit like buying a car and then finiding the steering wobbles when you do over 50 - it goes, but you will wish you had bought something better... ..

Thanks for reading :)

Shame, just bought the Sumvision last week, got fed up waiting for this to go down in price
#22
Do you think you could disambiguate the title of your deal by move "free delivery" from the front of the sentence, to the back? :-)

Or do you work in marketing...?
#23
I've got the wdtv live hub (basically this with a hard drive built in, allows you to rate stuff and downloads film info / graphics etc). I would just like to say WDs customer service is excellent. They answer emails quickly (regarding just about any subject - I was asking them technical details before I even bought it) and replaced my remote for me inside 3 days of it developing a fault!

In my opinion Plex is by far the best media player but as they don't do a box of their own this comes a very close second!
#24
Anyone know if this has come down because there's a new one due?

Apple TV 2 can be jailbroken and have XBMC put onto it.

Smacked one!
Good price - voted hot.....

Thanks OP, ordered.

Anyone with an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and one of these: DO NOT BUY THE APP FOR THIS!!!

It just doesn't work whatsoever so don't waste your money ;)

Bought the Sumvision Primus last week, came with a faulty PSU, was very disappointed.
Still awaiting for replacement.

Hope this one is better built.

Is there a massive difference between this and the original wd HD tv (which doesn't have streaming or dts downmix) it's just that I've gad my wt HD tv fir almost 2 years now and although very happy with it I might upgrade to this.

is there a wifi version?

just don't see the appeal of these as having to hook up a secondary external drive or stream just isn't as efficient as an internal one (hope that makes it clearer for you).

So how do you get new content onto the device?

My PC is in one room. The media player is in a different room. The power cable etc are all fed down the back of the AV unit everything sits on so it'd be a total hassle to move the player through to the other room every time I wanted to load and new content.

Moving an external drive through is much easier than moving the player. (Even though I use a powered HD with mine. I have several of them so I don't need to pull any of the cabling for it out.)

Agree on streaming though (wirelessly anyway .... with a homeplugs network or some thing it might be OK). Far too prone to interference and drop out. Gave up on that long ago.

Hot for the deal though. The WD players are great little gizmos.

For me I have all my media on a central location, like a NAS, and to keep trasfering the media to an external HDD would be a pain, so this is great if you have a NAS or PC were you dont have to keep off loading the media all the time, and also when you have a blu-ray iso file of like 35gb in size, it takes ages to transfer the files to a external hdd, for me streaming is a must
#33

cold!

previous wdtv models dont come with ethernet, but usb can be hacked to take dongles.
this is excellent at streaming from eg PC/Mac in another room.
prob not worth the upgrade

In regards to backing up/ripping blu ray is there a preferred method/format? That would work well with a WDTV?

Because people like it/the price is good and they give reason why they like it...

Why are you voting cold?

I have heard the super saver delivery with ebuyer arrives quicker than amazon

Been using them for many years. Delivery speed seems to depend on the item. You can order 2 different items at the same time, one arrives the next day, the other you can wait 5 days for.
As with many companies they are great as long as there are no problems. I had problems twice when items were faulty or damaged. Their RMA process was painfully slow. My costs for returning faulty items were never refunded. I must add I've probably bought 20-30 items without problem though.

Does anyone know if this will let me stream from my sky box up to my tv upstairs in HDMI?

Seems like a good deal!!

Does this do 5.1 surround?
