WET

WET is a highly-stylised third-person shooter that seamlessly blends gunplay, sword kills and over-the-top acrobatics to create the ultimate interactive action experience. The game allows you to shoot anywhere, anytime. You will have the freedom to shoot while running, sliding down ladders, sliding across the floor, or performing any number of acrobatic moves. Featuring an ironic mix of humour and violence, unique retro film visual treatment, and original 70's inspired music, WET is a third-person shooter experience unlike any other.

When Rubi Malone, a gun-for-hire, agrees to fix a wealthy man's problem by finding and bringing back his wayward son, she thinks the job is going to be cut and dry. She thought wrong. The job turns out to be more complicated than expected and the man who hired her isn't who he appears to be. On the run and looking for the man who betrayed her, Rubi is leaving a massive body count in her wake.

* Three Types of Gameplay: Seamlessly combines three types of gameplay: 360 degree slip-aiming mechanics, sword fighting and acrobatic abilities.
* Acclaimed Writer Duppy Demitrius: Written by Demitrius who is best known for his work on the action-packed TV series 24.
* Ultimate Interactive Action Experience: Over-the-top acrobatics with constant action that features aerial sword attacks, fantastic sword skills and high body count.
* Cinematographic Style: Unique retro film visual treatment with stylised over-the-top characters, an original 70's inspired soundtrack and locations that span three continents.
* New Iconic Character: Rubi combines attitude, style and killer instinct!

Isn't it a bit rubbish though? I had been dead excited about this for a year before it came out...delay after delay after delay with the release....and then played a demo and it was terrible!
Such a disappointment. :(

I agree but It's much better than the demo showed. Especially stand out moments like the freefall section. The music score realy adds to fresh styling and the combo chain gameplay. Give it a chance for under 7 quid and you'll have a blast.

Yup, its a hell of a game - one of the very few that upon completion i played it all the way through again straight away.

Looking forward to the sequel very much.

Sequel? Announced?

Liked the game more than average, but never got that far due to a stupid timed mission which I screwed up time after time.

This was £4.99 at Play (and seems to bounce up and down) but the £6.85 from ShopTo is also a fine price.

The game is actually not half bad, playing through it at the moment and it's a blast, sure it has flaws but it is good fun once you settle into the control setup. Music score also helps, funky :).

Remember that £7 is the cost of a Live Arcade title, if you consider that in your expectations you will realise that it's a fair/good game for the dosh.

Yeah, it's not a bad price, but it has been £4.99 at least twice in recent months.

The music in the game is awesome. So much so that I've downloaded all 50 or so tracks. My main problem with it was the repetitiveness - fight lots of bad guys just to run into an arena and do the "hit weird crossed swords with sword to close entrance lots of times" part, over and over. That was a mate's copy though - might give it a go again.

Price seems to vary with this one. Just got it new/sealed direct from play for 4.99, but it's now back up to a whopping 11.50!
Some of the gameplay is a bit to be desired, but if you get it cheap its not bad. (_;)

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Just started playing this today and am not sure about the aiming. (I've not passed the tutorial yet in the dining hall btw).

I always get a small round reticlue but sometimes i get another reticule..larger and made of red stripes. I think it also expands and contracts. Most of the bullets seem to go with the small reticule and no idea what other is for when it decides to show up. Manual says it is a autolock split target reticule indicated which enemy is being targetted by the auto lock....err I have no idea what thats all about.oO

Can anybody tell me why the auto lock reticule shows only sometimes, and what exactly is it for? And does it contract and what does that mean when it does. I think I'm only using one gun too so no idea why I have 2 reticules.

Well and truly flustered!

Autolock kicks in whenever you do something swanky like a wall run or slide etc. You then get two targets appear, one autolocks, the other you control to target a 2nd enemy or double up the bullets on one enemy. Basically, the idea is to do as many stylised moves as you can so as to utilise the duel targeting system as much as possible.

Thanks. Later in the manual it explains it. Should have really explained it when it started in the game really.
