Love Wetherspoons!Go there every week!People are responsible for their own drinking!

Love a bit of Spoons, get lunch from there nearly every day. Some of the best food I have ever had at a restaurant has been from wetherspoons.
We try and get 4 or 5 drinks in most evenings. Will be taiking advantage on this offer for sure, Means I can drink twice as much!

I think someone mentioned " responsible drinking " earlier in the thread....then we get a post like this!

I only hope you don't drive....not when you already mention putting 4 / 5 drinks down your neck each night and looking to drink twice as much in January. I'm surprised you can make any valid judgement on the quality of food with that much alcohol going down your throat every day......:?

With all these cheap booze offers on, there no need to go to wetherspoons! Guiness works out to 97p a pint at Sainsburys. Still voted hot though as this is a great price if are going out with your mates on the lash.

edit: guiness is only 90p per pint in asda!

Most of Europe drink sensibly ( well, maybe not Sweden...lol ), unlike those like "looop" who puts 4-5 down his neck every night and is looking to double that when the offer's on....

I travel Europe quite extensively, and thankfully, the "binge and throw it down your neck " drink culture isn't at all prevalent.

G+T is the best deal on there on the drinks. Guiness is a good price but i never find it that nice from spoons, but thats just my opinion

McDonalds does not count as a real restaurant though. Then again, neither does Wetherspoons.
#24
shame I'm in the only place in the country that won't be doing this promotion. We have a £1.50 minimum price that's been been running since 2005, as part of Bed:Safe...according to the council is designed to help stop “drunk and disorderly behaviour”.

Has anyone actually tasted a pint of Ruddles? I can honestly say, I would rather they wrang out the dish cloth into a pint glass, threw in some pineapple chunks from the urinals and let the bouncers dip their scrotums in and I would still happily drink that before I'd drink Ruddles again.

Starts 4th of Jan but when does it end? :?

Hot from me

I don't like weatherspoons but I do like cheap drink.. What a dilema!

Get off your high horse! ..there are so many branches it's bound to differ from area to area & pub to pub.
Excellent service, not a freezing hole like my old village pub, happy to have kids present.

I will not exactly be drinking over xmas so will avail myself of this offer, with my wife & well behaved nipper!

heat & rep op!

99p for a pint of beer that aint really nice. There are plenty of other countrys were you can get beer for cheaper. The problem is not the cheap beer its the handouts people get to buy the beer.

Really don't want to start a fight but... When your liver will be f***ked up and will need a transplant, some of my hard earnt pennies will go towards the operation on the NHS. Like any insurance, the National Insurance should be tied to your lifestyle. Smoke like a chimney and drink like a drum, pay more NI, that's simple.

Actually my group of friends and I often meet in a Wetherspoons so we can have a nice evening out without breaking the bank. We don't drink extra because its cheap.

Loser comment.

I agree with you and that's the way it works. Have you seen how much tax there is on fags and booze?

Mainland Europe doesn't have so much of the binge culture - it exists but not to the scale here.

When you watch cop shows you start to realise how much trouble, upset and cost to the public purse is caused by excessive drinking. I now realise why a mate of mine considers it worse than soft drugs.

btw I do like a drop or three myself, to excess, but usually in control!! :whistling:

..Get a drink in your belly, might improve your spelling ;-)

Since becoming an alcoholic, my spelling has imroved no end, I read the Guardian in an effort to wee whilst standing at the bar to hide my filthy addiction, feed the frenzied liver in order to non-stop binge.

makes the paper very soggy though.

Well good on weatherspoons, for doing such a great deal.

To those who moan that the police and local authorties that won't be impressed, I would say they are blowing this out of proportion. As they have ran a 99p ( but no frickin flake ), less than a year ago. They started selling IPA at 99p, thou that went upto 1.35, and has now been replaced.

As for issue of trouble, the secruity are actually pretty hot on top of things, in my local weatherspoons. Never seen any trouble, and the staff will not serve anyone who has had to much(unlike clubs).

So those comments I feel are not relative. This will not make Blighty have alcholo problem. As if this is the case, then it's cheaper to goto the supermarket and acgeive this goal.
