Mono sound!?!

Great price though ...... I think.

Mono does sound strange? Also, despite the model number, it would seem from the listed formats that they do not include HDDVD!

Mono sound with 2 channel output - that's gotta be a contradiction. Maybe it has the option of recording in mono, but that's not exactly a selling feature. I just can't believe Wharfdale would sell a 'mono'!

Okay, just did a bit of digging and I was right: It is stereo with the option of mono.

One thing to note - don't be deceived by the model number - it has no HD inside - it only records to DVD.

We got one at that price early this year.
For the price - it's ok.
Two minor problems i have......the clock/timer display when you are recording slows down & speeds up sometimes - but it's just the display - it doesn't affect the recording. Also,to get rid of picture interference,i have to turn off my Sky box to watch a dvd,....don't know why, cause all my cables are in the right place

I think the HD must just relate to the upscaling. Can anyone confirm?
