Sounds likea good idea.

Not 2 sure if this is a freebie or a get it quick but if i've put it in the wrong place sorry, also if this has been posted before again sorry....i did search but couldn't see anything!!!

ANYWAY

Now i no people will say its not free cos you have to spend to get it but here goes.....

The LG KG130 mobile phone...£19.99 at woolies but until the 11th of march they are on offer....2 for £30

Now for the smart bit

'Recycle your old mobile' with envirofone and get £21.38 cash OR £24.59 on an argos gift card for each phone....so buy two phones for £30 send them both back and get £49.18 to spend in argos or if you dont have anything you need to buy just get the cash instead and you've still made £12.77 profit!!!!!

Woolies website are sold out of the phone but according to customer support most stores have them in stock with a good rate of replenishment aswell!!!!

If you want the cash or the argos voucher either way.....your a winner!!!!!

Posting to envirofone is free too so even then theres no cost to you!!!!

Unless i'm missing something this is win-win!!!

Not knocking the idea or telling people not to bother but IF Envirophone spot this then the trade-in price could got through the floor leaving people out of pocket/with phones they have no use for......

(This has happened a number of times with games or DVD's & CEX prices dropping as the system/stores get flooded)

Basically, get in their quick :P

Agreed, they'll realise before they commit to giving anyone any money and if they really want them for that price they'll buy them themselves!

I realise that CEX is NOT Envirophone but a while back Virgin (when it still was) had Pilot Academy @ £5 for the PSP. Cex had a trade-in price of around £12 & over a 24-48 hr period the price fell (several times as presumuably more & more were traded) until it was last posted as being £4 - LINK HERE. Just because companies seems slow to react to some things (customer service...dealing with problems....dispatching...correcting mis-prices) doesn't mean they don't see massive influx's of one or more products & won't react quickly.

It's always nice to hear when members get a deal like this & make a bit of profit, just know what you're getting in to......

good but im a bit sceptical as to whether they'll honour it if MSEers and HUKDers get in on the act! ie flood they system and make it obvious! wil vote neutral. its not a cold deal, but like u said it not my cup of tea.. i kinda feel dishonest doing it... im weird like that!

What if there are people out there who would just like a cheap handy or even spare mobile phone and can't get one because a load of greedyguts people will go through a load of hassle just for the sake of a measly £12?

Now c'mon Bristol you know HUKD isn't for those that think of others when No1 should always take priority....it's not even as if anyone's said that if you were looking at buying the phone @ £19.99 already that by buying a second you could potentially get it for less than a tenner by selling that second phone......

I should have learned by now what this place is like - sometimes I just have these flashes where I still believe a shred of humanity and community still exists! I know I am a fool in that respect... :-D £12 is a lot of money to some people, especially if you've got nothing better to do than fanny around doing things like this all day...! :whistling:

Why buy a phone only to recycle it? These schemes are for unwanted old phones not new ones!!!!!!

The P&P alone is going to offset any good you do by recycling!!!! All for £12 I hope you all get stuck with them!!!!!!!!

do they sell these phones on or give them to charity , i suspect they sell them on at a profit and make donations to charity every now and then

How much is the postage for 1 phone by the way cant find it

Dont think this is a deal voting cold.

Call me a sucker but I dont use this site to make money and maybe damage a organization trying to do some good (dont know naything about them, so may just be profit!).

I use this site to find deals, if I was after a phone for me and the Mrs or something might have voted better.

This seems more like advantage/abuse and I to hope you get stuck with it

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has (moral?) issues with this one.
First time I've ever voted cold, sorry.

Welcome to the world of unintended consequences!

Seriously, it sounds like while these guys have good intentions, their
naivety is actually harming the environment with offers like this.
I'm not taking part in this scheme, but I will cite this case it if I ever have
to argue with an environmentalist I don't like :-D

Still cant find any info about what exactly happens to your phone, it is recycled or refurbished and sent to developing countries but I cant find any reference that it donates your phone for free or they actually sell these on. They must charge something or they would go under in a week.

personally I dont see anything wrong with this deal, if you had a car and somebody offered you more than you paid for it would you turn them down  but myself I couldn't be arrsed for the meager profit in it

have some heat for intative and to offset the enviromentalists that stalk this site.

Think about it, - somebody in the third world gets a free phone, you make a few quit, woolies are the only losers I see, but that only reduces their profit margin which they will make back selling something else

chralph don't you worrie about those losers...
