Global 6 Piece 25th Anniversary Knife Set - £195.00 delivered from wheesh.com

Now I know this deal will not be for everyone, £195 for a knife set is much more expensive than most people will pay, but these are generally regarded as the best kitchen knives available. Very g…

thats a good price for global knives, never heard of the company before, trustworthy ?

I think they are on the level - they did an electoral roll check to make sure I was over 18 as I was buying knives, I wouldn't have thought less scrupulous retailers would bother with the hassle

Just a quick update, I ordered these on Sunday night, got an email on Monday saying they are approved for dispatch, and delivered on Tuesday. They seem a reputable company, it looks like they advertise in most of the major foody magazines based on the special offers web page.

The knives are brilliant, a quick test last night was effortless. Waiting for the new kitchen to go in before using them fully though. I like the knife block, the black area is made out of some soft rubber material, rather than hard plastic, but probably more difficult to clean.

Now you get the hard bit, how to sharpen them ! Take a tip, its all about technique, the best sharpening stone in the world can't help you there. Some very good you tube videos out there.

Is it really that much better than a magimix?

It certainly looks better. :D

I think the magimix looks better - neater and sleek, whereas this looks like something from the 50's and rather clumsy and bulky. The bowl is also open and susceptible to dust etc.
My magimix has worked for over 20 years and is used regularly a couple of times a week.

You have to see a kitchenaid in the 'flesh' to appreciate it. It's one serious piece of kit.

Would love one of these and this is a great price! Sadly, alas, I have neither money to buy nor space to store said mixer.
We got this offer for our wedding gift due to issues with Debenhams. Took about a month and we got all the extras. We use it loads as we like to bake a lot
I cannot understand why this is cold. For chefs and cooks, this is the dog's b*****ks. If had a spare £389, I'd definitely buy it.
