Let the wild rumpus start!

Nine-year-old Max runs away from home and sails across the sea to become king of the land Where the Wild Things Are. King Max rules a wondrous realm of gigantic fuzzy monsters - but being king may not be as carefree as it looks! Filmmaker Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich) directs a magical, visually astonishing film version of Maurice Sendak's celebrated children's classic, starring an amazing cast of screen veterans and featuring young Max Records in a fierce and sensitive performance as Max.

This was one weird film I must say. Good effects though.

I really enjoyed the film although is has very little to do with the book (which is to be expected given it's a very short story) and the book is much better.
#3
This has to be the worst film I've seen in a long time! What a waste of time!!! I wouldn't even pay a pound for it!!:(

I usually hate it when people come on here to criticise the film rather than the deal, but have to agree. Thought it was carp.

Saw it with my daughter too..at the cinema!! She fell asleep through BOREDOM, not tiredness. Absolute worst film I've sat through for decades.
I think I saw it for £4 in my local Sainsburys on Monday though?

edit: it was £3. Any lower offers?

Ah, the joy of the HUKD film critics.

For those interested, the film scores a respectable 7.2/10 out of 29000 votes.

I'm not surprised - this isn't a kid's film as far as I'm concerned. Get them Toy Story or Teletubbies instead.

I have to agree this is not not a film for children even Spike Jonze said "I didn't set out to make a children's movie,I set out to make a movie about childhood." Thus people taking their little ones will probably get bored with it as it they probably won't get the ideas the film portrays.

dananana, what film were you watching? I bet it doesn't get an oscar. More likely a raspberry. This was total doggy doings. I felt I wasted 1.5 hours of my life and a fortune at the cinema
