We've seen loads of posts for Anker USB chargers on HotUKDeals, but none for a 5 port USB car charger with PowerIQ technology that is generally regarded as excellent. I've got a couple of the USB desktop chargers and they're ace and had this one in the basket at £13.99, but now dropped to £11.99. Tried a few Anker codes, but none seemed to worked.

Reviews are all 5 star, although all from reviewers who were provided with a free sample. However, should be good if they're to the same standard as the rest of their range of products.

I don't have enough things to charge 5 when I am driving. Fine for a holiday in a camper van I suppose.

I'm looking for something similar but I don't need 5 ports - any suggestions?

Does anyone have one, the biggest problem I have is all the in car usb adapters I have tried the cigarette socket is less than reliable, often disconnecting if you drive over a bump in the road

Unfortunately its a penalty of sports suspension, however the handling is fantastic :D

I suppose if you have 2 children in the back on tablets, a wife with a phone and your own phone and tablet all needing charging at the same time - then good.

(I got rid of mine years ago)

Got this one off a deal on here. The USB on the edge makes it easier to hide away. I took out the 12v power from the dash and run 2 micro usb leads to the front, one to the tablet satnat and the other two are as extensions to the rear seats.

That's just what I was thinking....

40watts at 12volts is only 3.3amps

It's putting out 5V, not 12V.
5V x 8A = 40W

I got one of these a week or so ago... It works pretty well and comes with a 3M sticky pad to mount onto a place on your dashboard. It works well, and the cigarette port is secure, (also in a car with hard suspension).

Sometimes I have found the reason for them popping out, is because there is a indented lip on some sockets which the chargers do not acknowledge (Belkin were bad for this) but the Anker tip is tapered so you should be fine. At least you have the decent Amazon returns to fall back on should it not work out for you!

Personally don't see too much practical use for this. I use a super-small two-port USB thing in my cigarette lighter and it sits very flush so basically converts the plug in to two USB power sources. It's usually more than enough for what I need when I'm in the car.

I use these in my truck, they are great.

I charge the following -
Note 4 @ 2 amps (Fast charge)
E-Cigarette
Tomtom
A2DP Aux adaptor
and my Dashcam

When I am parked up, it also charges up my Tab3 no problem

They work very well and are good for 12/24 volts

i wish anker would make a 3 port version of the 2 port thing. 5 ports is not very useful for me. might end up with easyacc 3 port thing but rather a anker version

I didn't know such things existed! With 3 daughters reliant on their phones they can all charge their phones/back up battery packs whilst on the go.
Thanks

The thickness of usb cable has a lot to do with charging current, use a thin usb cable with an anker powerbank and it charges at 300 mA - use a thick usb cable and it charges at over 2 Amps

I also discovered this a while ago when my Samsung 2A charger was only providing my Nexus 5 with 600mA of current. I then switched to a 'Portapow' cable from eBay and get around 1600mA now.
