Energy rating is a killer and will cost alot over its lifespan
#3
Had one of these for years...super dryer,
#4
That's also 7 cm taller than the standard size which would cause problems if it was going under a cabinet.

"Energy rating D"

ouch its gonna cost about the same per year to run it too.
#8
The energy rating and capacity kills this for me. Also, the voucher only works for argos gifts.
#9
no offence but my bills are high enough without using a D rated applience
#10

As for the 3kg load it is a Compact dryer, smaller than the full size. Only any good for very small familys ie: no kids lol.

Edit* This was supost to be my edited post [above] but I quoted myself :( Don't know why I done that .

Good buy, we had one for 10 years , if you worry about running costs use the washing line or radiators , tight gits!
#16

Cheap price, BUT the following would put me off:

* Only 3kg max load size
* D-rated
* Vented (NOT a condenser)

Think I'll give it a miss.

Is it for Barbie doll clothes or something!

10 years ago, Crosslee (white Knight) were a reasonable make, now they are absolute rubbish. I had one a few years ago. lasted around 18 months, even with a new drum fitted just outside warranty.
I opened it up to fit the drum and could not believe how appalling the build quality was.

If anyone does buy one, make sure you get an extended warranty...you're going to need it!

How can you complain about its energy rating and not being a condenser. Condensers are the least efficient?!?!?

The condensers I've been looking at are B or C rated :p

Then again, they're not cheap tat. :whistling:

The reason it's energy rating is a D is because tumble dryers are rated on the same scale as washing machines and thus end up with poor energy ratings, a standard tumble dryer is typically rated C (smaller dryers, such as this one tend to be worse). You can get an A but it is pointless as it is ridiculously expensive and it takes a long time to dry anything.

Also White Knight is a good make, they tend to get good reports in the which report, etc, and they are cheap.

The criticism on here is shocking, most people judge on certain facts (such as energy rating, etc) which is pointless.

:-D

Need heavy duty pegs though !!

A tumble dryer with an energy efficiency rating of D will cost approximately 50% more to run per year than one with an A rating.

But you have to run an A rated tumble dryer for longer because it doesn't produce as much heat, so it's pointless. Also you have to pay a hell of a lot more for an A rated tumble dryer, it will cost you more overall for the A rated appliance because of the initial outlay.

Is it gas or eletric???:)

Its tiny so it can fit in kitchen cupboards! Which is what my mum has done, so its like an integrated dryer, i get a full wash load in mine, so it isnt that small inside! x

Partly true but not all A rated Dryers take longer. I certainly wouldn't buy an A rated White Knight tumble dryer as to get that rating they use a low energy programme that takes hours longer to dry clothes. However, AEG-Electrolux A-rated dryers for example use a special heat pump so they don't take any longer than normal dryers. They do cost a lot more to buy though so are probably only worth considering for people that use their tumble dryers a lot.

My white knight is 'A' rated (mind you it takes 4 hours when on full efficiency settings).

Cost about £100 4 years ago and still runs perfectly. It was Which Best Buy at the time.

currys etc

most places that sell appliances will sell them. Then you just need a builder to make the hole in your property
