Good reviews for this too, thanks OP.

Does anyone know if these can sit on top of a washing machine?

3kg seems very small for a dryer

It's a compact dryer standing about 20cm shorter and 10cm narrower than a standard sized tumble dryer or washing machine.

Tesco say it was £458 - I take it at that price a new kitchen came with it!

Do you think they mean it's the first deal that they have posted?

can someone comment as to how big the vent tube is? (I assume it's circular, so diameter?)

And for the records White Knight are fantastic on customer service. Our tumble dryer is the oldest tumble dryer in the world and still they send us parts and happily answer all our spazzy questions. Just received the engineer's instructions so we can replace a leaky bit, £10 part, bit of effing and jeffing and job done (the insides are astonishingly sharp, don't go shoving your hands in).

i bought mine in store on wed for £89.

Just ordered one. Live in a flat and fed up of drying on radiators in this weather. Just got to find space for it in the kitchen now.

Bear in mind they use humungous amounts of electricity.

Good price for this particular dryer, but 3Kg is pretty small drying load.

If you're in the general market for dryers, worth considering the BEKO DPU8360W (£337 from Dixons, among others), as its one of the few cheap-end manufacturers to use heat-pump energy recovery, which reduces the electricity consumption by about 50% over the typical dryers. That should save £50-70 running costs per year and if you get 3 or 4 years life out of it, you'd probably save money over that term.

Of course you save even more if you can bothered to hang stuff outside to dry when we actually get some sunshine. The smart thing to do is hang out a few easy items (big towels and jumpers, that kind of thing), but not mess about pegging out individual socks etc.

So if you do two loads of washing, and manage to hang out half of it but then dry the fiddly stuff together in one run of the dryer, that's still a fair compromise between money saving, time saving and being (somewhat) green.

And if you don't like it that towels tend to go a bit crisp after drying on the washing line, then put them back in the dryer for just a few minutes once dry and they soften up again, so you get the best of both worlds.

I have the standard size WK dryer - it's a 6Kg load - can be had for around £30 more. Running for 2 years and no issues - read up before you decide if you really need a condensing dryer - not always beneficial.

Would love to order, but the Tesco online order system only accepts 'auto found addresses' from a postcode and doesn't recognise either my work address (probably the largest building and employer in town) or home address. Tesco page says if the address is not right then re-enter the postcode again - why? Is it going to find a different address at that postcode next time? (answer=no). Never had this problem with any other supplier. Gave up in the end unfortunately. Could probably phone them but too pee'd off TBH. Will probably find it elsewhere.

Heat added though, as I'd have bought one!

for me it is the convenience of being able to dry my clothes rather than having to have the heating on for a couple of days just to get everything dried on radiators.
