hmmm cheers op, might be worth a punt at that price, just need to convince swmbo that the price is irrelevant, cos she's worth it :D
#7

#8
What's the average price to get a bathroom suit fitted? I could do with a new one!
#9
Looks good heat added
#10
Tempted...

Bristan taps we have fitted are great quality. Heat

Got this a few months ago when it was on offer at £200, nice suite, good quality taps, nice size sturdy basin, bath is 5mm which is about average thickness so its not too flimsy. Only thing that lets it down is the toilet seat, its white plastic, but so thin you can almost see through it. I got a new seat and couldn't even sell this one for £1 at a boot fair.
A good deal overall, especially at this new lower price.
#13
Good deal. Bought the taps that were on offer recently and they were very good quality. Had a problem with one of the valves, and Bristan sent out a replacement within 2 days :)

Is the bath suitable to put a shower over. Only reason I ask is that my current bath has a lip around the inside edge that stop the causes water to build up and not run down into the bath. So I guess Im asking is the top of the bath completely flat?
#15
I also got one when at the higher price and am pleased with it.
Not a high quality suite but was good value then, and excellent now.
Delivery was arranged by phone which was very convenient for me.

Straight swap for a suite with no tiling your looking at between £450 - £600

The rim around the edges of the bath is slightly angled into the bath so that any water should run into the bath. Should be no problem in using a shower.

Bloke at work is getting a straight swap done for £300 (he's doing his own tiling). That is a homer though ....

So buy the suite, buy a replacement mixer tap and stick the two singles on fleabay at a later date.

It's still a good deal.

Stick with white - it's classic. The one we are taking out is pink & somebody once thought that looked good! Same for all those beautiful avocado ones from the 70's (_;)

Ouch, £600! I could probably fit the sink and bath myself as I've had them out before, I'd have no idea when it comes to the toilet though!

The toilet isn't much different to anything else, it's pretty obvious how it all goes together, and I'm sure there's instruction included if you get stuck. With flexible tap connections you can get over pipes not lining up.

The only thing to worry about is your bath. I tend to build a frame around the entire bath to ensure it doesn't flex when your sat in it, a big problem with cheaper acrylic baths. It also makes fitting the panel a lot easier. Also remember to do all your silicone work with the tub full of water.

Just to add quidco is presently 6% so tracking @ a touch over a tenner so even better

Would just like to add that if you are looking for a quote to get a new suite fitted, then put the job up on myhammer.co.uk - you put the details up and tradesmen respond. I needed a quote to fit a toilet and sink and got quotes £200 lower than my local plumber!

Glad it worked in the end - I was just running a test order to check after I saw your comment & the code was still working :D

Would there be any complications fitting this in an 80+ year old bathroom? I hear the measurements for the pipes would be different so an adapter would be needed.
#37
i used to fit bathroom suites and charged £300 if the customer supplied their own. Used to be a days work, so not bad cash.

Bargain, ordered

Use compression fittings and you can connect imperial to metric sized pipe no problem.

Its pretty straightforward, just get adaptors and use flexipipes

Toolstation is pretty cheap
