Absolutely superb, I normally pick up a 2kg salmon from the market for £12-16 so deal is even better and I am glad I didn't go tesco tonight either.

Never ordered from Morrisons but this deal is making me want to order.
Just need to find more items to order to total it £40.
#11
would this be farm fish?
#12
i would be suprised if whole salmon was ever 12/kg considering fillets or whole sides cost about that and whole salmon has a lot more waste in the head and tails, probably end up with about 600g/kilo.

mind you i'm saying this in the knowledge that it probably did cost that much,i'm just suprised they find mugs to buy it.

£5/kilo of salmon is a ten times better deal than this considering your paying for head tail fins scales etc.in this deal.
im suprised to see howso few people realise this.

Make sure you are clear on what size fillets you want. Weve had huge ones and tiny one. We usually point to a fillet on the fish counter and ask for them that size.

I heard salmon from fishing farm, are not real salmon, but fed red food so it colours their meat.

While real salmon is fresh from the sea or lake, and its meat is more naturally red.

Is this claim true or false?

Normally seen for a fiver.
So IF THIS is true. .. Have fire.

Not sure on your 1st part of question, but wild salmon is much different in taste and colour to farm salmon.Wild salmon is bright red, where as farm salmon is more pinky.Still good price for farm salmon.

can anyone confirm it started, thanks

I've found from experience if something like that is on offer they won't prepare it for you so it's no good if you don't know how to do it

They have to put retinoids into the feed of the farmed salmon or they would end up grey/white similar to cod. The wild salmon get these naturally in their diet. In addition the farmed salmon, being in close proximity, are infested with sea lice and have to be treated with organo-phosphates and insecticides such as delatmetrin. Sounds disgusting, but it's no different from treating farm animals with antibiotics in their feed.

Having said all that, great price and a pity that there is no Morrisons near us! Have to go with Tesco.

in Scotland they have salmon farms where like battery chicken they have loads of salmon swimming around in very small water sources and fed pellets to make them fatter and red.
Btw there are 2 colours for salmon flesh light pink and blood red and to by proper wild salmon you need to rob a bank lol
#35
Cold. It's still 10.99 per kg.
#36
guys plz advice how to select best quality salmon do we go by colour if pink then almost all salmon are pink in colour ?
