#2
covered in Daily Mail - heading changed to macth exact advertisement !
sorry

At my nearest store they put up the poster about lobster but never put any on the shelves. When I ask, they say that they are sold as soon as they come in.
#4
cheaper than from those fools on the apprentice!
#5
ASDA also selling whole lobster for £4
#6
Sounds like another sprat to catch a mackerel to me :whistling:

We have been to a few stores that have sold out of so called offers just to get the punters in :x

wtf? :?

I did see some in the St Neots store, but they are small!
They are encased in an icy tube a little larger in diameter than a drinks can and probably twice as long

He is referring to an episode where they sold lobster at less than cost price and lost the round ;-)

lol, they were a tad expensive !
#11
Been eating these for a few years now. Canadian lobster. Really tasty, that`s why they sell out fast
#12
Had one of these last week - taste good, but they are really small, nothing much on them - better off buying a tin of crabmeat for half the price (in my opinion)
#13
I wouldnt buy a product like this from Lidl or Asda. Freshness is everything, just not possible for this sort of price.
#14
I've only ever bought these things live, like crabs. Didn't think frozen was a good idea?
#15
Yum Yum Thank You
#16
:w00t: Lobster,more like Prawnster.They are tiny.
#17
Its a commodity at the end of the day quality & freshness = high price.

Judge for yourself, having said that you have to actually know what decent quality fresh lobster tastes like in the first place. As they say no such thing as a free lunch.

^^
We'll trust your word on that, Harry.

They are frozen.

Where do you buy your fresh frozen four quid lobsters from?
#20
I had them last year and wouldn't buy them again at £1 even- not nice
#21
Saw a similar deal in Tesco for £5. They were in a small - and I mean SMALL - cardboard box with a see through top which was quite strange to look at. It was a whole lobster but not as you would imagine it.

It was like a mini-me lobster.

i know dumb or what

Fresh is always going to be best but this price for a "luxury" item is very good. Gloucester store had approx 100 about 12 hours ago...

I was tempted and bought one. There was practically no meat in there - all claws and no meat and as it was pre-cooked, some idiot put in salt. That really ruined the whole idea of having seafood.

I won't buy another one from Lidl - all hype and no substance. The last batch of salmon I bought from them is still languishing in the freezer!;-)
#25
I bought 2 of these miniature lobsters for my wife for a special meal.
They proved to be so salty they were uneatable!!:x

A lot of the meat is in the claws

What's the catch?
#28
I love lobsters and for 4quid for frozen ones you can't really complain, it is a great deal

of course you can complain if they are oversalted and contain basically no meat!

listen i'm not proud of it. but sometimes you do things you regret

and eating a lobster from lidl is one of those things
#33
I bought two of these last year and was very disappointed. Very samll and very little flavour.
#34
loads left in pemberton store.
#35
1000's in Basingstoke.

At £4 each, we are having them as starters for Xmas Dinner - they taste nice, but I like salt - they should be, as seawater is, oddly, salty! :-)

You eat the meat in the claws, and the tail .... is there anything else you can eat - or is that it?

Got to be live!

A dead Lobster is a dead Lobster.
But with some skills a nice soup could be good.
