The fantastic O2 Home Broadband offer has got even better. Not only are they offering a free wireless router and 3 months free on any package but Quidco and TopCashBack have now increased their cashback to as much as £100.

The £100 cashback is available on the Pro package, with £75 available on the Premium package and £50 on the Standard package.

The cashback for this offer makes the 20 meg Premium package work out roughly the same price as the 8 meg Standard package. Over the course of the 12 months there's only about £5 difference between the two!

There's also free McAfee security software and upto 500 free web texts per month.

Was listed before many times. My advise is don't rely on quidco payment. I'm still waiting after three months even though it has tracked.

Moved to Misc as this deal appears to be about Quidco/Topcashback rather than a specific deal for everybody
#4
Even if you don't rely on the cashback is this not still a pretty decent deal for broadband?

I am on orange and I pay £5 for 8meg unlimited broadband so if I was going to get an iphone then this would be quite good...

Can I ask why as nobody else who has submitted this deal (or the O2 mobile phone + Quidco deals) in the past has ever had it moved to Misc before.

I understand that deals which ONLY consist of a Quidco offer get put in Misc but this also includes 3 months free, a good monthly price and a free wireless router too so seems perfectly worthy to stay in the deals section surely?

I've added the monthly price to the title if this helps.

Examples of previous deals here:

Hi
Apologies; I hadn't noticed that this now included a free router. I thought it was the same deal as this (only with the change in Quidco) but that earlier thread doesn't mention the the free router. Therefore I've moved this back to "deals" and added heat.

O2 Broadband has included a free wireless router for some time (as long as I can remember).

I'm pretty sure it was just the higher packages that included the router wasn't it?

Could it be because you're a matchstick and the OP is a solar flare?

This deal appears every few days/weeks on here.

That said it has NEVER BEEN BETTER. 3 months free = peak free months. £100 cashback on the Pro is most ever (which few people will be able to justify on line-lenght and costs terms), and £75 cashback on Premium = almost most ever (£80).

Anyone after the Quidco needs to be aware that their enhanced cash only runs to close Monday as detailed on Quidco home page. Havent seen a deadline yet for TopCashBack (same 50/75/100 deal) but MIGHT be the same so act today preferably!

This o2 home broadband has never NOT included the loan of a free router.

Never been called a matchstick before!

Well I have been a little put off posting deals etc on here as my only two deals were slated for one reason or another! So now I just use and comment! :whistling:

Agree, I don't post deals anymore. If I see a better deal I add it to the existing thread. It's not worth spending any time on, you usually just get slagged off.

I don't know how this hasn't got more heat, i picked it up last month and the speed is brilliant.

It got pulled by one of the mods for a couple of hours after I first submitted it so it missed it's time on page 1 of New Deals. Hopefully if it huffs and puffs it's way to 100 degrees it should fly!

Whilst these offers are great for new customers, what is adviced for existing customers.
O2 tell me they will give 2-3 free months free BB, but there is no mention of added discounts.

They have said they do not allow you cancel and then sign up again taking benefit of the cashback sites, so thats not an option.

Any other suggestions to get a lesser overall cost? Ideally i want to move to the top end package.

You can cancel and sign back up again for the Quidco but I think they have a rule about you have to wait about 3 months before they'll allow you back.
#23
Hi Taksim,

I had thought of that, but the rule is you have to wait 6 months before you can do that.

Ah...six months then, I knew it was a certain amount of months at least.

Could you not get your partner or somebody else to sign up as a new customer in their name instead? Maybe even change your landline number if this helps fool them?

Either that or would it work out more profitable to go with somebody else for 12 months then go back to O2 again next year?
#25
signed up for this yesterday after orange said it would work out more expensive for unlimited 8meg being tied to my £35/month phone contract (currently have orange 8mb at 19.99 a month and to tie it to my phone contract was an extra £3 per month, ridiculous). have heard good things about o2 and looking forward to getting it setup. customer service is much better than orange broadband, bunch of t**ts

£5 with Plusnet; 18 month contract, £7 for the router (call it £5.50 per month inc router)

I had O2 broadband and had received the quidco cashback no problems.

you can return the very next day after your broandband has been deactivated, all they say is just use a different name, i used the other half, but all the other details were the same, bank account details, address, landline, and the o2 number it was linked to for the customer discount, just the name changed. all connected and quidco processed again!
#30
just switched to o2 couple of months ago. Best broadband so far. definitely recommend.
#31
I signed up at end of Jan - good reliable connections and speed.
Just my luck - when bt activated my phone there was no o2 (free months or quidco) active - a week later the offers were on again - but still a good deal even then
#32
O2 Broadband never included a free wireless router as i know. Because i canceled my o2 contract when it end. O2 send me a bag and require me to send the router back.
#33
I am thinking of switching to O2 but it says in my area:

You're outside the network area that O2 Broadband covers, but all is not lost. We can offer you our O2 Home Broadband Access package.

Does that mean reliability could be a problem?

Migrate to Be, they're owned by O2 anyway, 3 months or whenever later migrate back. Quidco for both. I've done this

Its not free router now, they still own it. You never had to pay for it and you dont now. Nothing has changed. But if you leave you have to give it back, its just provided free while you're a customer. Thread is a bit misleading imo

Worth noting with the Pro package the 'O2 Wireless Box III' is wireless N
The other packages inc the 'O2 Wireless Box II' which is only G
#37
Taksim - thanks for that. Good idea.

Spinks following deactivation and then calling up the next day, how long did it then take for the bb service to come through?
#38
Could not wait for broadband so stumped up, then this deal turns up and makes you look like you've been robbed (i'm paying over 1 pound a month :x)
#39
its cheaper for O2 customers so do i need a contract phone or can i just buy a sim

Just buy a sim and link it to the account anytime before the free 3 months is up.
Then top up with £10 every 3 months to get the £5 discount each month.
