Not really a "deal" - it's just their general offers they always have! :)

Books are up to 60% off and free delivery. If you are shopping for books then getting up to 60% off is a good deal, in my opinion.

Yes it is, but they always have 60% off books - it's what they do. :)

Most of these books are less than £4 each in my local Asda, so not much of a deal IMO

Asda do have good offers, however, their range of books is limited. WHSmith does have far more books than any local Asda and you get free delivery on everything !

and bogoff?

Yes, they've had that offer for months now. And it still makes them usually more expensive than supermarkets for chart paperbacks. :)

Free delivery - but a bit slow

I ordered a book last wed , was told should reach in 1-2 working days. no sign of it yet.

There's no point squabbling with Bristoldeal for pointing out that these are typical discount levels at WHSmith.
It's the same at amazon or play or anywhere else that sells books - hefty discounts apply to almost all books at almost all times, particularly hardbacks.

This is simply pointing out that 'WHSmith also sells books fairly cheaply', like a lot of places. When looking for somewhere to buy books cheaply, add WHS to the list.

The only link anyone needs re. books is www.bookbutler.com to price-check any book and find the cheapest source.

I'm not voting hot or cold.

I think you need to ask them what the issue is: Do they have it in stock ? Have they dispatched it yet ? etc.

I ordered mine yesterday evening and it has been dispatched today. Hopefully, I receive my order tomorrow ! :)

I can't understand why some people are voting this deal cold.

Up to 60% off books and free delivery + 10 % quidco is Hot by anyone's standards (thats a maximum of 70 % including Quidco !)

Not that relavent but I ordered a ds game from whsmith that was posted on here a couple of weeks ago and there was no sign of it so I went into my account to see what was happening and they had cancelled my order due to insufficent stock but they didn't both to email me and let me know:x Don't think ther very good on delivery.

The BOGOF on some paperbacks is a good deal, I've just ordered 4.

Watch it, though, the software didn't pair up the most expensive two (2 @ £7.99) and the cheaper two (2 @£6.99), trying to charge me £1 too much. I ended up splitting the order. Good job it's free delivery. ;-)

Terrible customer service - stock levels on the site are incorrect & they don't even tell you if you item is out of stock even though you ordered it.

Please see last 4 or 5 comments on this thread :-

Thanks, Gobofraggle, that's a really good site! (mind you, I am not sure it does this deal any favours; highlights the fact quite a few of the books can be found at same price or cheaper elsewhere!)

I am afraid no-one is going to judge a deal on the saving against the RRP, they will judge it on how it compares to other retailers. If people find some of the books cheaper elsewhere, they will consider it a cold deal.

I didn't vote either hot or cold.

I did call them , but they said they have to wait for 10 days before they will even look at it !
My account shows status as 'Dispatched'. It has completely put me off though.

I checked this website and a preliminary examination revealed that bookbutler.com has not taken into account the up to 60% discount deals at WHSmith as posted here.

Did this by checking books through bookbutler.com and whsmith website which revealed that bookbutler.com does not appear to be entirely accurate.

I guess it is a good indicator of prices of books at certain websites, but it's does not appear to be entirely accurate.
