this was in the Manchester store downstairs in the Arndale Centre, so may not be nationwide and it isn't online

In Manchester I never find anything, I for once wont be chasing this one as I work near this store and even the reduced items are more expensive.

behind the counter downstairs in the store if i lived near by i would take a pic tomorrow but i was only up for the day hence posting now

EDIT~: the reason i didnt purchase is that other threads i have read on here have suggested some drives over heat or are noisy, i'd rather wait and grab a 2TB drive for under £100 which apear sometimes

agree, you will a xxxx not to buy one at £19.99, please dont waste ppl's time & petrol. unless you got proof.
#16
well someone go down there tomorrow snatch them up and prove im not a jackass
#17
The one with the ferarri netbooks was a disgrace. easy thing to do just ring up and ask someone to check. If it is a hoax, then such things are killing this site. I completely understand the scepticism without a picture or a receipt.
#18
pics or it didn't happen.

Still showing as a live deal
#22
Not any more, what a waste of time posting rubbish like this.
#23
so he can't prove....and?

He has said that he isn't based in Manchester and for some £20 is a lot of money to waste if you are not sure the product is as good as you would like.

I'll pop into the store tomorrow (am heading into the city anyway so its no extra hassle as i need to visit Smiths anyway) and will confirm if its genuine, i have no reason to doubt it. He has given specific instructions of store and location.

Will confirm after i have bought 1.

Wow you paid too much, There are 1TB ones for £50 and easily get a TB for £60 so not the cheapest in the known universe not by a long shot

I would quote everyone but CBA.

To the OP good offer thankyou for sharing if your genuine which I am going to assume is AS I DONT HAVE PROOF OTHERWISE (see its like innocent until proven guilty u bunch of tards)

To everyone else christ this is why I dont post deals anymore if you dont believe it dont look but no need to accuse the OP of lying DO YOU HAVE PROOF OTHERWISE? or do you even have high post counts most of you? or do you contribute pretty much nout except to come in and accuse people of lying without getting off you arse... and I know you didnt as WHSmiths aint open at 12 funnily. So in the end this is why I dont post deals. You need to get some manors/reality check and maybe think about keeping your opinion to yourself... vote all you want but unless you actually got off your arse... and even if you did there are polite ways compared to using the word lier or the alike.

So in the end
GOT NOTHING NICE TO SAY AND NO PROOF THE OP LIES THEN SHUT IT!

PS Unexpire requested.

Unless they are a real saddo/loner/no mates with nothing better to do than get excited about the amount of heat they generate by posting non-exsisting deals then I doubt it!:w00t:

To be honest I'm disgusted by the attitudes of some of the people in here. You have just 'decided' the guy is making it all up, and then your attacking him? Christ, give the guy a chance!! I'm not suprised people are scared to post deals in here. I hope he is genuine, and until prover otherwise should be treated as such. Honestly, sometimes I dispair... Well done to those that follow the 'innocent until proven guilty' train of thought.

any in west yorkshire?

Saw this in WHSmiths, ,it is 59.99, no idea where u got 19.99 from? there was a usb stick next to it at 19.99, maybe u read the wrong price tag?

But no need to give this guy a hard time about it...
#30
I sometimes wonder why people post deals on here especially if they never believe the deals:whistling:
You gotta have faith in some deals, its just tough luck if you don't get it or if it's sold out.

if your going to accuse the poster at least use an actual word to do it with.

OP, might be that you got your shelf edges mixed up, epic fail :-D but thanks for the attempt, im still going to pop into my local and check as I am in town today. would have been the bargain of the month for me.
#32
To all the do gooders defending the OP let's hope his next deal doesn't involve a (cough) mixup between a smart price toaster and a 50 inch 1080p 3d TV because this forum would melt down

can this be expired before it makes the top 5 of the day??

This place is a joke. Bunch of vile children.

This forum will turn into the laughing stock of the internet if it carries on like this.

The ones you talk about have 3.5" drives, and so need external power supplied by an ac adapter. Many people (including me) like the simplicity of not needing an ac adapter, and go for external drives that use 2.5" drives, which need less juice and are powered over the USB cable. Nice and tidy. The downside to this is that you pay a premium for wanting a 2.5" drive over the 3.5" drives (what your basically looking at is the difference between "desktop" drives and "laptop" drives). 500gb external 2.5" drives are still around the £50 mark, and good luck finding a 1TB 2.5" external drive for £60... just having a quick look this is the cheapest I could find at Scan:

There needs to be a little more love on this forum. I believe that there is a small chance that a retailer like Smiths would mark down a hard drive to £20 if a staff member didn't know about the product or some other administrative error. Proof is nice. But, more importantly, we could all think critically about some posts. Did the OP tell you branch. If so, a quick call is enough. If not, then just think to yourself, is my local store big enough to stock the item. That sort of thing.

That really isn't helpful. Most of the people on this forum are experts in one field or another.

It went a bit harsh from the beginning, but thats why people take pictures or post receipts. It just avoids confusion. The offer may or may not be there. It would be good if someone else could check it out and post pics.

It's unfortunate that of late that several new poster have actually posted deals which tirn out to be hoaxes and wasted a lot of peoples time who went looking for the deal. The Acer Ferarri netbook was a good example of this.

It would be nice if people got more credit based upon the fact the deal was more than just a one off store specific, but was verifiable as nation wide or at least current and available. Has anyone verified this offer yet (pribably by buying them all up.

i just rang the store and its 59.99 and its the last one. Too many people are posting without even checking the shelf lable. Just like someone posted laptop deal in tesco that doesnt exist.

I was in the store when you rang and then asked the staff after they hang up, explaining that they might get a few calls as someone had posted that they were £19.99. They said that they had had them at 19.99 as the OP said, but that someone had just been in and bought the only three they had left.

So.

OP wasn't lying and someone got greedy.

They even rearranged the shelf to fill the gap that the product had been in. Hopefully the person who bought them all will post the receipt. I'm just sorry i can't post proof of the ONE that i wanted to buy...hey ho.

I would provide proof for you all as I bought it today but can't get picture on, keeps asking for the URL
