This is a really nice whiskey.

We got some last year when Morrissons were doing the same for £8. At £10 though, it is still a good price

Aren't you all :whistling:
#7
Only on for 3 days chaps so get a move on:santa:
#8
Is this similar to any other whisky that is readily available?
#9
Can anyone confirm if this is available in Scotland?>
#10
Why wouldn't it be available in Scotland?

It's nationwide, max 3 bottles per customer. Adverts in today's newspapers.
#11
Tesco have released ab offical statement, saying that. ' We not be releasing this product in scotland. Due to problwm with alcholo consumptions, by drunken jocks.'. lol!
I think they would be a national promtion. So get ur bozze in for xmas.
#12
I think the mis-understanding has been with the licensing law change in Scotland. There was so much talk about minimum pricing and stop irresponsible promotions - yet in actual fact the law cannot do any of that. I think a lot of people now think such price promotions can't take place in Scotland.

But they can...so a good time to stock up for Christmas and/or Christmas pressies! :)
#13
If it's anything like our local tesco, they will be out of stock. Tesco's good deals are never on the shelves when we go.

Yes, similar to Jim Beam and Jack Daniels

Which makes you think, do they only have the one case to sell through out the entire uk?Well ok, maybe not entire uk, but it feels like it It is a marketing ploy after all.

I always felt this too, was sick of always going and getting nothing - but I have to acknowledge that the last few times I've went they've had most of their deals. I was amazed when they had both the Heinz beans and Tomato Sauce they were selling for a £1 last week!

I think with drink offers though people tend to buy buy buy with them, so I can understand why they run out.

is this single or blend?

I can't believe I've never heard of the this before, the hermit I must be...

I'm guessing that this is good stuff then?? NB I'm a Jameson / JD / Bushmill / JB drinker (not all at once of course!)
#22
Yeah, it's pretty expensive Whisky. I'm not a big whisky drinker, but I think this is decent stuff. Could easily give someone it as a present, so it's quite a good deal IMO.

I`d stick with Jameson and Bush
#24
Hot hot hot!

No presentation box unfortunately but a great deal nonetheless, picked one up this morning.

Thanks, heat added.

It is very. very nice. Not too harsh, so you can have a few nice nips of it. The normal retail was about £17 when I got some last time, but like I said we got a very special offer ages ago. I would happily pay £10 for it
#26
I normally only drink single malts but this is one of the best blended whiskys I've ever tasted. Hot.
#27
surprise surprise I checked in the Coatbridge Extra Tesco and they had no stock at midday today !
#28
So Whyte and Mackay is bourbon whisky?

Yeah I imagine the shelves will empty quickly. Always good to have a scout around looking for it in additional locations out with the normal space on the shelf too.
#31
Just bought a bottle at fleetsbridge, poole store and they had about 10 boxes of the stuff near the entrance.
#32
Can't believe that this is being compared to the rough as a badger's backside American Whiskey - this is a far smoother and more refined spirit - Hot!
#33
Unless it is marked as out of stock on the shelves, they may have some out back.

There was none on the shelves at the Sevenoaks metro, but the price was still displayed, asked a staff member to check out back and he came back with a couple of cases.

May be worth a shot as at this price I imagine they are having a hard time keeping the shelves stocked.

So Whyte and Mackay is bourbon whisky?

It isn't, i have no idea why people are comparing it to Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, its totally different

All Bourbon whiskeys are from the states, Kentucky bourbon from Kentucky

Same sort of concept as Champagne only coming from Champagne, France
#36
Just had a couple of glasses...mmmmmmmm
#37
Just back and sipping my first glass! Heat & rep added.
Plenty on the shelf at Tesco Extra, Salisbury.
#38
