OK, I know its not for everyone but...

Just been into my local Wickes builders merchant and they have Dickies steel toe cap safety boots for £9.97 - reduced from £35 ish - can't find them on the Wickes website so instore only. Seem quite comfy full leather upper, oils resistant sole etc, thinsulate jobbies

They also have the cargo trousers down to a bit under £5 (from £15) and the fleece £10 from £18 ish

& Those boots are on the Dickies website for £63...http://www.dickiesstore.co.uk/dickies-workwear/boots-and-footwear/dickies-safety-boots/FD23100/0/

Was tempted to buy a second pair...

dunno never had them before :) but they are WAY more comfy than my last pair of boots. The feel of them is 'very heavy duty' and your foot sits in them and won't rattle around (unlike my regular choice of british army boots where i need 2 pairs of socks!) they have all the normal blarb about being 300 degrees and oil resistant soles etc. Otherwise, can let you know in about 6 months :D

but for under a tenner... a steal, even if they are a 'bit orange' :) nothing some boot polish wont tone down though.

No you just have to sing YMCA whilst wearing a toolbelt and a hard hat!!

Wickes sometimes has these special offers - the clothing seems good quality and hard wearing. Got a jacket last time.....btw there was no indication that the items had been reduced - they just had them at cheap prices

I believe you also need one of these if you buy the boots:thumbsup:

Yet My builder bought a pair for my job and he was still wearing them DAILY nearly a year later (When the house was finished) and he was none too gentle with them. I still have the box where he left it on the rubbish pile.

I was bought a Dickie Jacket/Shirt (Lumberjack style) for Xmas and it is my favourite outdoor wear.

These are great boots. I've had a pair for a number of years that I wear when working in my garden. They are the most comfotable pair of steel toecap boots i've ever worn.
#19
Anyone been and got a pair since this was posted?
#20
Went into Wickes (Norwich) this morning and they were being sold at £34.99, so I left empty handed. The clothing wasn't reduced either.
#21
Not in my local either - Warrington - has anyone managed to confirm this deal is genuine?
#22
None in my local store either. had some nice fleeces but their "Large" must be builders large :P

All the items they had were full price (Shrewsbury)
#23
this was from Havant, can put a pick of the box/reciept up if necessary - they weren't near the rest of the dickies clothing, but by the second trade till

Just been to Wickes in Edinburgh at Kinnaird Park and got a pair for £9.97, but they are the Ashley ones that are marked at £19.99. Still a cracking deal. The guy was surprised that they came up at that price.

Cheers OP:thumbsup:

ok, its stock number 190-254 - i remember the guy on the till had to key it in as it scanned @ £35 initially, next person who pops in, just ask the service desk to look it up

Tried today. Scanned at the till at £34.99.
When Cashier checked at customer services, came back with a new price of £27.something, so I left them.
Might try another store if I get a chance.
