lol yeah yeah .... no glory yet not till we play West ham then it should be all over ! and my 30 yrs of being a local club follower will pay off to the max ..... the thought of playing Europe was a dream so can't describe the feeling at present m8

Wigan didn't really deserve to be relegated from the Championship. I didn't think they were relegation material when watching them as an away fan of the most hated team in the Championship at the DW Stadium ;)
Thought the same of Wolves too, the league position didn't really reflect the football I saw being played. No idea what happened at either club when either team were relegated but something clearly wasn't working.
After all the noise Whelan made about Sheff Utd and Tevez, I was quite pleased they got relegated again......

Well within his right after that debacle. Any other club would have been relegated but most clubs don't have a Sir Trev working for the FA
snag1
Surprised to see this much heat, I didn't think Wigan had as many supporters as this!
They haven't, hence the need to offer this. Sad thing is the stadium will still be half empty. When Wigan were in the Prem, I had access to the occasional batch of tickets through work and on match days I would offer them to people for free in pubs etc on match days and nobody ever , ever took a ticket. Was it that you couldn't give them away or were the Pie Eaters too suspicious of a dodgy looking scouser offering free tickets! That aside this is good value to a local , football watching neutral like me. Hot Deal .

It's so refreshing to see that Wigan think of their fans first; we're playing Doncaster this weekend (at Doncaster) and they're charging £23. Want to see Middlesbrough, that's £27

Anyone that knocks this price doesn't go to football matches, so be quiet and sit back down into your armchairs!

It could also be said that anyone who goes to Wigan doesn't go to a football match ;)

It's a truly depressing prospect that this sham of a club may be back in the premiership next season. Wigan is a rugby town and Wigan FC is purely Dave Whelan's folly.

For a sham of a club they did do well in the Cup last year.

But surely thats what the FA Cup is about? David and Goliath and all that?

I still wouldn't pay £10 to sit in their depressing ground with no atmosphere though!

Some p1ss poor comments on here by bitter people. Wigan are a good footballing side, that are recently formed in comparison to other teams, with a nice organically growing fanbase, and are the current holders of the FA Cup. Get over it. ;)
Highest average attendance in the Premier League was a joke. It's a no wonder they're throwing these kind of deals around, but hey it's a great deal. They really don't have a fanbase though, let's be honest. They're in for a lesson when Leeds, Sheff Weds or Forest turn up. Mental away support.
Seriously ? .... if it was £1 it would be too dear. Yes if you are willing to sit at Wigan just to watch decent Championship teams then maybe it may be worth it.
Wigan spent YEARS just avoiding relegation in the Premiership because ... they were rubbish.
Finally they did the honourable thing and got relegated
Please people this is not a hot deal ... paying to watch poor football is a poor deal.
Under 5's free ... it is like a cult those poor kids indoctrinated into a life of dismal disappointment.

lol.
@_Ross_ If you could read and the letters formulated something in your brain then you'd realise that they're not tickets to watch Wigan U16's. Great thing about England, 90% of people can barely read, write and speak English. It says in big bold letters 23 Championship games and 3 Europa League games, cheap tickets for kids.

It didnt say half season when i read deal!

But it did clearly say "Starts with Manchester United on January 1st"

But it also clearly stated that it was for a half price season ticket which it wasn't.

Well I thought the £230-ish I paid for a 17-21 season ticket at Reading next season was good value, but Wigan are giving them away!

Crap atmosphere, but a nice stadium to watch football in and very accessible. (DW, that is)
I got a season ticket last year. Wasn't a supporter, but by March I had meat and potato pie gravy running through my veins. Would recommend to anyone in the area with an interest in Premier League football. Great value. Will be renewing.

"This is what makes me laugh, people mocking United for having a large fanbase. Why have they got it?"

Because halfwits from outside Manchester jump on the bandwagon. Thats why.

United have dominated English football for the last two decades. In this time football has become a game without regional boundaries thanks to Sky and the football authorities. So, surprise suprise, United have picked up supporters all over the world as well as in Manchester. Now I have explained this to you it's obvious to me who the halfwit is.
Or one could just as easily say that aggressive marketing and ruthless exploitation of an event 50 years ago has successfully targeted people with limited ability to think for themselves.

You really think United exploited Munich? Think before you type next time.

Bargain - Selling your tickets to United fans when they come to town will get you your money back and more.

How would that work, a lot of other clubs take more than Man U away, including Leeds and West Ham, Tottenham normally take decent numbers as well.

It doesn't work that way. Each club only get a certain allocation for away games. United always sell out, which usually leaves 1000's of fans wanting tickets for away games.

I live 300 miles from newcastle and i get their 4 times a season. I think it proves my point quite well.

Not really i support my local club, Not one that was doing well when all the other children at school where picking there club unless of course your originally from Newcastle. Ive supported Wigan since the bottom of the 3rd division so to take stick from somebody that FOLLOWS a club and attends 3-4 times a season i find it to be rude.

Born is Newcastle and have supported them since Rob Lee and Rule fox, besides why on earth would i support them for glory? We have'nt won anything since the days of black and white tv :)

You guessed wrong. If you check this forum you will see that i am a Newcastle Utd fan and attend 3-4 games a season from the south. Newcastle are a much better, more entertaining team than wigan who incidently are doing a BETTER offer than this. Put that in you pipe so now go watch the rugby - at least you have a semblance of a chance of winning something.

3-4 games a season top fan then, tbh if i was you i probably wouldn't of wrote that it doesn't really stress your point. And why would i go watch rugby i dont like it.

how old is junior tickets for?
The only reason the stadium is always almost empty is that almost the entire town works for the company that Dave Whelan used to own and his legacy of paying minimum wage to everyone has stayed. If it wasn't for Whelan, Wigan would be a much richer town overall....
Good deal, Well done Dave Whelan, Top bloke in my opinion
Yes Liverpool are big, Wigan are small. I and others Latics fans are dlighted to watch us as equals with Liverpool, as we were with Rochdale and Bury in League 3 with the other 2.5 k who made up the faithful. We will never get crowds like Liverpool, but all you can do is support your team, i feel no guilt/embarrassment for my townsfolk who choose to follow the Liverpool and Manchester teams from the comfort of their own armchair (are you one of them?). You really are a big time (club) charlie, and do the reputation of your peers no good. In the spirit of banter, i have always felt having lived and worked in Liverpool for a good few years, that proper scousers tended to be Evertoniams.

Wigan Athletic have real problems! despite already having the cheapest season tickets in the Premier League attendances in the first 2 games have been 16,000 and 14,000 which I believe are the two lowest ever attendances for Premier League football. It just shows that Wigan is a rugby town, the Warriors do well and their attendances are boosted to the detriment of the football club.

If you are a casual Latics fan then these prices offer a decent saving however I really worry for the future of Wigan Athletic.
that is ridiculous, the rugby attendances have been much lower than ours in the last few years!!!

Look at figures before commenting instead of believing sky, and how do attendances make a difference to the survival of the club in the premiership!

yh but there crap

A deal is a deal regardless of the team, -10 goals after two games, don't feel down to much Wigan fans as it could be worse..........

You could be a Watford fan.

Its not a deal if you dont get your moneys worth though is it ;)

This will most likely appeal to the away supporters who couldnt get a ticket for their end.
simple we need a few clubs to collapse and then merge.
in business we have mergers and takeovers why not in football !!

any football club that is public could in theory be taken over and merged, or shut.
How funny would that be

as a huddersfield town fan I'd love to purchase leeds united and just shut them down !! :0)
it would cause outrage
