Wii Console - £147.00 @ PC World (Price Match)

Thought I'd create a new deal for this as the Sainsburys one is a bit of a mess and this would just get lost.
Someone from my office has just been to PC World and bought a Wii console for £147. They will price match Sainsburys (+10% of difference) as long as they have them in stock and the store is less than 10 miles away. Just make sure you ring Sainsburys first, then get the store manager in PC World to ring them if there are any problems!

Got to love a price match! Voted hot.
#2
another pointless price match thread...

as stated in the original Sainsbury's Thread, PC World now price match all stores within a 30mile radius of the store
banned#3
yep waste of a thread and a cheap way of getting rep and votes
#4
do currys do this too?
#5
I price matched my first item, a printer other day from Amazon - they are so sly! they tried not to give me the extra 10% off though!

I couldn't care less about rep and votes. It's not a waste of a thread imo, PC World don't state they price match Sainsburys on their website and I'm sure not everyone can be arsed to read through 20 pages of comments on the other thread.

As for Curry's I'd presume they would do it too if you rang them and asked nicely. :-)

Valid thread in my opinion.

Cheers matey thanks for the info...

dont let thes people put you off posting a deal voted hot for me i didnt see the sainsburys offer

stop moaning its a bloody forum not life or death what harms it doing being posted? why is it a waste of a thread its not like theres a limit to how many threads can be made
#12
Didn't catch the thread about price matching sainsburys so top post in my opinion :)

Voted hot.
#13
Not everyone has time to sift through a thread with numerous pages, so threads like this help people out. I don't personally see why everyone gets worked up about them.

cheers for this not a waste of a post

If Sainsburys are selling the Wii for £150 and you get 10% difference back, then shouldn't it be that you pay £135 for the Wii in PC World? :?

No, its 10% of the difference of their price, so £180 - £150 is £30 the difference, so therfore 10% of £30 = £3 :)

Oh btw, if anyone is looking to price match with play.com at pcworld Manchester store, their staff are stupid, they assume the play.com price is playtrade  so they refused my price match for "Medal Of Honor Airborne".

The manager was 1 of the many idiots, I wanted 3 copies, in the end she said "its a £90 discount".... hello! price match promise, so I just left that store and went to another one, got the game and no questions asked :)
#23
Your only allowed 1 copy as per their price match "promise"... so they were right to refuse you.

Quanitity wasnt the issue, they didnt mind, just the fact several staff say that the price advertised was playtrade. I have price matched multiple items in other stores, all smooth transactions.

Yep, they obviously have something to hide, I popped into currys later that day, and saw tiger woods 2006 psp for 97p in the clearance basket, the guy went to get the game, came back and said, cant find it "sometimes we sell games without the case". he obviously didnt want to sell it me or kept it for himself :whistling:

Totally agree. Are we really going to get a PC world 'price match' thread for every electronics deal elsewhere?

Stone cold :-D

97p games often show on the inventory as being in stock when either missing or sold out, so could've easily been sold earlier and the box accidently left on shelf

it wasn't placed on the shelf, it was in a basket, you have to take the case to the till to purchase :whistling:

Considering the Nectar points you get, the 5p/litre off petrol offer and sheer convenience of being local - I just got a Wii this morning from Sainsburys.

Getting myself to a PC World and fighting the hassle of their pricematch is just not worth it !

Pointless thread
#31
not bad , but already got a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Pointless for you, yes. For people who have PC World nearby and the nearest Sainsburys is miles away, then no.

Reading through the comments, clearly not everyone knows about PC World price matching Sainsburys and they don't even state it on their website!
#33
pointless because most people know pc world price match. so didnt need a new sub thread for the same deal which is already on here, thats what i think anyway

What you don't seem to have grasped is that the 10% extra they give you can be significant, especially when PC World sell things for stupid prices, like memory cards.

Not only that, but you can get 2.5% Quidco too by reserving and collecting, which might not be available at the place you match against.

So some of these knee-jerk reactions do look a little bit unfair.

Mickemers - oh my goodness you've tried to steal rep and heat from the world by posting a thread on a deals website. Let me find some stones to throw at you.. hold on.. wait oh no, this is a useful tip, perhaps already tagged onto another deal, but so what? I think you've taken some stick that's not particularly fair. Heat and Rep added.

Maybe its worth you trying it as you have clearly made loads of "helpful" comments judging by your rep :whistling: perhaps the creatine is frying your brain!!!

As someone else has said, this is a money saving FORUM, its not G8 and no-one will die if you read a post that mirrors another. If its wasted you significant time then I suggest you READ the deal tag, its quite clear and you should just not read it...... or is that too simple?? I assume that everyone flaming the OP has nothing else better to do???? :whistling:

Anyway, thanks for the deal, I've got a Wii which by some people's mentality means that I should vote this cold...... but I wont, good deal, thanks for sharing, dont let the minority plonkers put you off, your contribution is valued!!! (H&R Added!)
