Isn't the wii a bit old hat now?

I thought everyone had gotten bored of the bowling and that most wii's just sat gathering dust?

Try a PS3. They are literally quite amazing machines.

Nah he`s right, statistically the wii is slowing down in sales and the 360 and ps3 are picking up!

Plus, most Wii owners are small children or women, look at the sales of "adult" games on the wii which says it all really.

Once kids get over the FAD and opt for another next gen console that keeps their attention i recon you will see the ps3 and 360 catch up alot!

You can get a pre-owned Wii and a brand new Wii Fit for £179 in Gamestation. Quite a good deal.

Will the Wii become the next 'Breville Sandwich Toaster'? - everybody's got one but it's in the cupboard and is hardly ever used. (see also 'George Foreman Grill') :)

Xbox 360 has been established as being better for games. Not only has the strength of 360 sales seen numerous Playstation exclusive titles being lost to the 360, but we know for a fact now that cross platform games are better on the Xbox because developers produce their content for that console first and foremost, and are having to ignore the PS3's increased firepower because it's just too difficult and costly to take advantage of the core architechture. So for all it's powerful hardware, all you're getting for the most part is ported 360 games on your PS3 (and although exlusives like Killzone and Metal Gear are great games, 360's exclusives I'd say are definately better, e.g. Gears of War and Halo).

On top of which, Xbox Live is so much better than Playstation's Home it's a joke to compare them. The amount of content available is great, for example GTA Lost and Damned which you cant get on the PS3 (and a ton of other addons and enhancements like that which the Home doesnt have, as its crap). And although it's a matter of personal taste, the 360 controller is considerably better than the poorly designed PS3 Dual Shock's with it's slipper trigger buttons and awful analog stick positioning. Only part where the 360 controller falls down is the D-pad, which sucks, although that's fixed in the limited edition controllers - other than that, it's just a much, much better controller.

Only reason to get a PS3 is for the good BluRay player, which isn't really worth it considering a standalone BluRay player of equivalent quality or better can be purchased for around £100.

In case you're wondering, I have both 360 and PS3 consoles and had to sell my PS3 to get a Wii. Online sucks with it, games are more expensive despite not being better, the controllers are like the 360 controller's ugly brother, and BluRay is ridiculously expensive given that the improvement in quality to an upscaled DVD is decent but not exactly amazing.

The Wii btw is the best console by far if you're going to have more than two people playing locally. The number of 360 and PS3 games with for example 4 player local multiplayer is extremely limited, and most of them are awful. On top of this, most 360 and PS3 games aren't beginner friendly - if you have the console and your mates don't, or don't have the same games, then when they come round it becomes pointless playing the good games for those consoles because they take alot of learning in order to be able to play adequately. The Wii beats both consoles hands down in this sense, both in terms of the pick up and playability and also the multiplayer content available, so if you want a decent "party" console then you have to go for the Wii (although be prepared to be robbed as you'll probably have to spend on 3x Controllers plus 3x Nunchucks).

ur post is nonsense the only bit that aint is 3x Controllers plus 3x Nunchucks ouch LOL

Good on nintendo they are still printing money, but it will end up in the attic.

lol @ rofldinho the fanboy. makes some absolutely stupid points. He completely forgets to mention you will need to buy 5 xbox's per year to compensate for the red ring of death. the very fact MS has a system to tell you how ****ed ur console is just proves how they were expecting it to go wrong from scratch.

A motion controller has been made for the Xbox 360, it will be out later this year, in winter 2009

Now now children play nicely, we were looking at buying a Wii on monday what a silly way to waste £302 this was at argos with loads of things, looked at xbox 360 looked at ps3 i haven;t got any of these kiddies play things shelling out all that money to sit in a room watching telly i don't think so if you were sent to prison you would moan your bag off but you people will play games on your tv's for hours & hours the same as being locked up, don't choose a Wii, Xbox or Ps3 choose life :whistling:

I just bought this last week for my kids at the beginning of the week from Gamestation. They had it up for £219.99. It came with the console (obviously), wii sports, remote, nunchuck, sensor bar (standard), and the wii fit. the fit was mainly for the Mrs.

for all those ppl saying that wii is not all that. Just to let you know that the Wii is the fastest selling game console ever. That speaks for itself.
Read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7964459.stm also note the article is under 1 month old (so not old out-dated news).

I thought £219.99 was good but this is better. The only downside of Wii I have a grevience with is that nintendo charge you for other things that should be given as standard (are they related to the BMW car company?) , for example if you want another remote/nunchuck and to get the internet channel on the wii home screen it's 700 "points". Another annoying thing is that everything apart from the console and the sensor takes batteries. Can kill you in batteries if you do not have rechargable ones. Overall very good for adults a like as you are part of the game and physically get involved.

X-Box, Wii, PlayStation... Personally I'd love one of each.

As has been said, the Wii seems popular with the kids and those wanting to shed a bit of the excess ready for their holidays in Rhyl, but that's still a market and if you want one - for whatever reason - then you'll want to pay as little as you need to.

I'm a little cautious of pre-owned deals (bit old fashioned... Or paranoid!) although there are some tempters!

Yes but did you know that nintendo lied to people? the motionplus is what should have been in the controller in the first place, that`s why the motion controls can be extremely tedious and unresponsive at times!

So now nintendo are trying to hide it by pretending its some cool addon when infact its a piece of hardware you will require to play any games that use motionplus!

All wrong, The 360 had a years start on the ps3, the 360 hardware is technically rubbish (RROD, E74) its a much bigger problem than anything the wii or ps3 have, i have both xbox live and a PSN network account and i will stop you right there because now the PSN has closed the gap, infact havent you seen a recent statistical thing on downloads speeds from XBL vs PSN, PSN won, also you are on about quality of games and ps3 "losing exclusives", didnt you know MS paid $50 million for that DLC? infact no developers opted for the 360 because of its install base or hardware capabilities they opted for the big cash payouts!

Also, your comments on the controller are rubbish, if it was that bad surely Sony would have had millions of complaints about it from the 100 million people who bought ps1`s and ps2`s and the further 20 million who own PS3`s and changed the controller.

Also, Home and the PSN are not the same thing, the PS3 gets lots of great DLC too, Blu-Ray is not expensive(have you seen some of the deals here on HUKD)

I cant be bothered shutting down any more of your post.
