Why are they £80?

They're cashing in on the shortage

That's what I thought - a little on the pricey side - but hey demand and supply curves would put these above £100 (as seen on ebay)

It might also stop a trader going in and buying them all up.

Will Nintendo actually get a Factory up and running before 2010 so they can actually supply stock (they have made enough money) or is this stupid situation here to stay ?..

£80 is the instore price, which is what this post is about
Website is £69, but currently unavailable

Here to stay. Games retail prices tend to depreciate fast compared to other media. Creating scarcity keeps the price up for longer.

I got my wii fit though woolworths by putting my name down on their waiting list in store, three weeks on and they have call me to offer me the choice of collection in store or delivery (took the deliver). Must admit the wii fit thing is crazy at the moment!

Tell me about it! Every other phone call we get is "do you have any wii fits in?"
I counted one day, we took 35 phone calls about wii fits!!!

I got fed up of asking stores as I felt sorry for the staff!

LOL!! Well, it is annoying, but we can take it! Compared to some of the s*** we have to deal with, saying "no, sorry" a few dozen times a day is nothing! :)

I bought mine instore from Zavvi two weeks ago and it was £70.
Paid £63 with my virgin credit card. This must be a very recent price increase

nintendo are a joke, why can't they just make enough stock to satisfy demand

£80 aint bad, much better than eBay.

I remember ringing up a small store based in my town, probably finding it hard to shift games against competition from Game, Gamestation, HMV etc, they said:

"Yes we have them in stock"

Oh, wonderful are they £69.99

"No! Theyre 100 quid!"
